September 21, 2020It's Microsoft's turn to take the spotlight, as their next-generation Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X will be available to pre-order at retailers across Canada starting Tuesday, September 22 at 11:00 AM ET.
Originally unveiled on September 9, both the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X are scheduled to launch on November 10 and both consoles will likely be atop many Canadian wishlists this holiday season. Here's a breakdown of where you can pre-order them in Canada, followed by a brief overview of the two consoles.

Both Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles will run the same next-gen games and support backwards-compatibility with most Xbox One games, but there are a few differences that may impact your purchasing decision – most notably, the two variants do not feature identical hardware and performance capabilities.
The Xbox Series S is Microsoft's entry-level console, designed around an all-digital experience in a compact and affordable package – the Series S supports a maximum output resolution of 1440p and does not have a disc drive, which means it'll only run games purchased from Xbox Store and play digital media. In addition, the Series S only includes 512GB of internal storage compared to 1TB on the Series X, though it can be expanded with separate add-on cards.
The Xbox Series X is the more-powerful next-gen console, with a maximum output resolution of 4K and built-in Blu-ray drive for physical games and Blu-ray discs. The Series X also sports better hardware, with a faster processor, better graphics and more RAM to help run 4K games more smoothly. Physically, the Series X is much larger than the Series S, taking up 60% more space compared to its smaller next-gen counterpart.
Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X are scheduled to launch on November 10 and will carry exclusive games including Forza Motorsport, Gears Tactics, Halo Infinite and possibly several Bethesda franchises following their acquisition by Microsoft on September 21. Happy hunting!
