What’s Coming to Disney+ in June 2020
By Simon Hung
May 29, 2020June is here, which means sunshine and warm weather, but it's always okay if you'd prefer to stay inside where it's air conditioned and stream some Disney+.
It's a lighter month of new releases, but one notable title is Artemis Fowl, which was originally planned for theatrical release this summer but will premiere on Disney+ instead. Plus, after months of fan complaints, you can now watch classic episodes of The Simpsons in their original 4:3 aspect ratio instead of the cropped 16:9 widescreen ratio by toggling the new "Remastered Aspect Ratio" option on the show details page.
Here's everything that's streaming on Disney+ in June 2020.

Disney's Artemis Fowl is an embarrassment

So exactly why is humankind a threat? Seems like humans are fairly primitive to me.
The clumsy (IMO) mcguffin is an invention of the film
IIRC the book protag isn't so supremely confident (not mentioned in the film but possibly on the keto diet)
OTOH the tentative hero has been done in probably every YA adaptation since Potter
I'm not sure what's the benefit of having the narrative being recalled by another character
So many fantasy/scifi movies, there's no original design work going on -- there's only so many ways to do a centaur or an ogre I suppose but magical beings using phaser rifles?
I get it, Potter did wands and guns are cool but there must be something new under the sun -- laser sling shot?
The trailers looked good but I am glad I watched it on Disney +.
His last name really describes the movie perfectly.
