Ford is Recalling Select Trucks and SUVs to Fix a Break Fluid Leak

By Ambia Staley

Ford has just issued a massive recall of nearly 215,000 pickup trucks and SUVs in Canada and the United States due to the possibility of break fluid leaks.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in documents that the fluid can leak from vehicles' master break cylinders, causing increased break pedal travel, greater efforts, and longer stopping distances.

The following vehicles were mentioned in the recall:

  • Ford F-150 Pickups (2016-2018 models)
  • Ford Expedition SUVs (2016-2017 models)
  • Lincoln Navigator SUVs (2016-2017 models)

All of the above models have a 3.5L turbocharged six-cylinder engine. Dealers will replace the master cylinder and brake booster if needed.

This is the 3rd recall from Ford for the same issue, as the company recalled F-150s in both 2016 and 2020. Ford says in documents that it is aware of four low speed crashes, but no injuries.

Owners impacted by the recall will be notified by letter starting April 25.

Honestly, with all the auto corrects, still see these going out.
