Costco Canada Gives Priority Access to Healthcare Workers and First Responders

By Kate Musgrove

Here's some good news from Costco Canada! Starting April 8, 2020, they are allowing healthcare workers and first responders priority shopping access.

Healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters EMTs should simply present their Costco membership card plus a piece of official identification indicating their role and they will be allowed to move to the front of the line to enter the warehouse and shop.

Costco Canada has also implemented social distancing practices in their warehouses and increased their sanitizing protocols for shopping cart handles, shelves, front-end belts, registers and other surfaces. Additionally, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8-9 AM, Costco is offering special operating hours for members who are 60 or older or who have a physical disability. (In Courtenay and Nanaimo BC, the hours are 9-10 AM.)
