Popeyes' next big thing is bite-sized, as the fast food chain is bringing their new chicken nuggets to Canada.
Scheduled to launch on July 27 in Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico, this won't be the first time chicken nuggets have been available on their Canadian menu. The chain currently offers "Louisiana Nuggets" on their kids menu, but these aren't the same as the upcoming nuggets.
The new chicken nuggets – simply called Popeyes Nuggets – will draw upon the success of their Chicken Sandwich, as the nuggies are made with white meat chicken breast and coated with the same buttermilk breading as the Chicken Sandwich.
"Just like our game-changing Chicken Sandwich, our new Chicken Nuggets are unlike anything you may have experienced before. We aim to show the world once again the magic of Popeyes chicken with our new Nuggets. We believe that these pieces of crunchy, juicy delicious chicken will have guests question how they ever enjoyed chicken nuggets before this," said Popeyes President Sami Siddiqui in a press release.
The launch should be especially exciting for chicken fans, as chicken nuggets are widely adored, while the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich has been one of the most popular fast food items over the past year, igniting a Canadian chicken sandwich arms race between Popeyes, KFC, Burger King, 7-Eleven, Red Lobster, Swiss Chalet, A&W and other restaurants.
Popeyes Nuggets will be available in options ranging from four to 36 pieces, with your choice of dipping sauces including Bayou Buffalo, BoldBQ, Blackened Ranch, Buttermilk Ranch, Sweet Heat and Wild Honey Mustard.
Canadian pricing has not been disclosed and the nuggets will be available to order at participating Popeyes restaurants in Canada or through your favourite food delivery apps.
