Free March Break 2018 Events Around Canada!

Keeping the kids entertained this March Break shouldn't mean you have to empty your wallet. With a little help from your favourite stores, libraries, and more, there are plenty of fun and free activities happening around your city during the kids' week off.

If you're looking for some ideas, there's no need to worry, as RFD has put together a handy list of free events happening around Canada this March Break!

1. Kids' Break Events at Indigo

Head over to your nearest Chapters or Indigo store during March Break, as they're hosting a variety of kids' events each day of the week starting at 11 AM! Dates will vary by location, but they should match up with March/Spring Break in your area.

Notable activities include:

  • Unplug and Play - Test your skills with Hasbro games, or pop off the lid to your imagination with Play-Doh
  • What Will You Build? - Build a LEGO model & take home your own deck of Building Cards
  • Adventure Beach - Help save the day with the PAW Patrol Sub Patroller, and make your own Sea Patrol craft

2. Free Events and Workshops at Your Local Library

At any time of the year, your public library is a great location to take advantage of free classes, activities, and more. During holidays like March Break, they often increase the number of fun and educational events for families and kids of all ages.

3. Free March Break Events at IKEA

Visit your local IKEA this March Break for much more than meatballs and home decor. All week long, various IKEA stores around Canada are hosting March Break activities for kids and familes.

Notable activities include:

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Face Painting
  • Cookie Decorating

4. Skating Rinks

Winter is nearing its end, so it's a great idea to take advantage of your local ice rinks before they melt. City-run rinks are free, so you just have to grab your skates and get to gliding around the ice.

Many rinks have already closed for the season, but some cities keep their rinks open well into March, weather permitting. Be sure to check your local rink to see if it's open.

5. Toys R Us March Events

All throughout March, Toys R Us is hosting a series of fun events for kids. Most take place on Saturdays, however be sure to check your closest store, as many locations will be hosting demos and activities Monday to Friday throughout March Break. Kids attending March Break events can even receive a $5.00 Toys R Us shopping card, so it's worth checking out if you're also looking to do some shopping!
