This week is a big week in gaming, as the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 are finally hitting store shelves. However, gamers may have to wait a little longer to get their hands on their consoles as shipping delays are being reported for both systems.
Whether it's due to the overwhelming demand for the consoles, the continuing problems with COVID-19 ,or a combination of factors, customers who successfully managed to purchase the Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5 are running into last minute delays.
Some Canadians who have ordered an Xbox Series X or Series S directly from Microsoft have been running into an issue that was showing their console sitting at a FedEx facility in Memphis, Tennessee for days, while those who ordered via Amazon are being told that consoles could arrive as late as December due to high demand.
Due to high demand, consoles will ship as inventory continues to arrive throughout November and December. You will receive an email notification when your order has shipped. Many who pre-ordered the PlayStation 5 aren't faring much better, as Walmart Canada posted just hours before the system's release that orders could be delayed 2 to 3 days due to the demand.
