It's been nearly 18 years since discount chain BiWay shuttered its doors, but if you've been feeling nostalgic for their inexpensive apparel, housewares, and iconic black and white plastic bags, then you'll have something to be excited about, because the store is set to make a comeback in 2019!
In a recent interview, Mal Coven, one of the key figures behind the BiWay brand, announced that he's planning to resurrect the stores -- which originally closed in 2001-- with a slightly different concept.
The new store is expected to be called "BiWay $10 Store", and as its name suggests, it will carry a variety of goods such as apparel, household items, toys, toiletries, and food for $10 or under.
"BiWay is a legacy brand," Coven said when speaking of his plans. "We carried a lot of brands, but never junk. This will be a new concept store with branded, quality goods."
The first store, with 7,500 square feet of space, is expected to open in Toronto in August 2019. Coven also aims to open 4 more stores in unnamed locations by the end of 2020.
