that's because the games selection for the holidays this year is pretty weak compared to year's past.
where's god of war 3, final fantasy XIII, gran turismo 5 (the real one not the $30 demo), Bioshock 2, etc. it seems a lot of the must buy PS3 games are hitting AFTER the holidays.

Wow, some people are really ahead of me. I still haven't finished Infamous, Killzone 2, MGS4 (I know.. old), or Batman: AA. I was thinking "There are too many must buy games out right now", with AC2, Dragon Age, MW2, Uncharted 2, GoW Collection, having been released just recently.
Thinking of it actually depresses me. Those are just the PS3 games I'm behind on.. I still haven't played through GoW2, Fable 2, Fallout 3... all of my Wii games (Galaxy, Metroid, Zelda, and others). It seems like there are too many AAA titles and not enough time to play any of them.
On a related note.. Batman: AA is awesome. I can't believe I let it sit on my shelf for a couple of months before giving it a go.

grappos13 did the calculation for minimum..
(Calculating from maximum)
$69.99 * 2 = $139.98 ) * 1.13 = $158.18/ 3 = $52.73 per game
I say not hot... I get games for $39.99 + tax or $44.99 + tax as lowest...

The problem is almost every game you listed has been on sale now or last week at $30-50, making this buy 2 get 1 free not much of a deal at all.Trigger wrote: ↑Wow, some people are really ahead of me. This deal isn't really hot if you compared it to rogers where you can get a new release game for around $20-$30 easily. The only constrain is time to check different store to get the qualifying games and then the limited games that you can trade these games for.
At BB you'd atleast pay $45.20 each for 3 $59.99 games. It would be hot if some of the recently released games were on sale as this week.

you my friend have WAAAY too many consoles. wii, 360, ps3? that's just way too many. i'd say choose your favorite and stick with that one. anymore than one console and you better quit your day job and become a professional gamer since you'll be spending most of your day playing games if you want to complete them all.Trigger wrote: ↑Wow, some people are really ahead of me. Well I look at it this way..
$69.99 *2 = $139.98 * 1.13 = $158.18 - 69.99 = $$88.18 / 2 = $44.
I count the 3rd game as a discount.. since it's free.. technically your paying $44 for 2 games

Huh? I think user01 has it right...
In the end you are still paying $158.18 for ALL 3 games (assuming you buy all $69.99 games) and not $88.18? Not sure how you figured that one out.

this is how i got AC2 and MW2. total cost to me for both games on four stinker trade in's was just over $50. $25 per game, excellent deal at RP.dorje wrote: ↑This deal isn't really hot if you compared it to rogers where you can get a new release game for around $20-$30 easily. honestly, i wouldn't have bought MW2 if i didn't get this deal. now after spending some solid hours with the game i still don't think the game is as great as the reviews say it is. it's an excellent FPS but killzone 2 is still the undisputed champ in that department.

Calculation is flawed. it's not a discount as you didn't add it in before hand. In order for your calculation method to work to work:
$69.99 * 3 = $209.97 - 69.99 = $139.99 * 1.13 = $158.18 / 3 = $52.78 a game.

I can't even think of 3 games I want right now. Only if Mass Effect 2, Mafia 2, and Heavy Rain were out now.

yeah you ARE going to pay BB $158.18... but I was saying the true value is less, because yout getting something worth $69.99 for free. It's like getting a GC worth $70 back...
So although out of your pocket your spending $158.. really your saving an extra $69.99 + tax you would've had to throw for another game...
