What to Buy in September
Table of Contents
Cars: 2016 car models are arriving soon and dealers are eager to make space for them so you can save thousands by buying a 2015 model now. Prices for 2015 models will continue to be great through the end of the year, and for the vast majority of cars, the differences between 2015 and 2016 models are negligible.
iPhones and iPads: for months, it hasn't been quite the right time to buy a new tablet or smartphone, but finally, it's time. The Apple keynote is happening September 9. Rumour has it that a new iPhone and a new iPad will be released which will result in price drops for the previous generation.
Backpacks and School Supplies will be well-priced at the beginning of the month as the Back to School sales wrap up. Similarly, we'll see more deals on laptops for the first weeks of the month.
Big Appliances (but not refrigerators): as we mentioned in May, new models for big appliances come out in the fall. Appliance retailers, just like car dealers, are looking to clear out space to accommodate the new models which means you can snag from great deals. But while prices have dropped, they're likely to get even lower in the next couple of months, so there's no hurry.
Lawn Mowers: now that lawn-mowing season is starting to wrap up, you might be able to find a deal on a good lawn mower. Prices will continue to drop into next month.
Fall Apparel has just the shelves and it's likely to be full-priced. If you can, wait a few weeks to update your sweaters.
Grills and Outdoor Furniture: selection will be very limited, but if you're flexible on specs you might be able to find a great deal.
