View allMy XB1X died a few months ago. Had the same misfortune with my X360 not too long before the XB1 launch..
I was on the fence as to whether I'd keep my Series X pre-order since I had a perfectly capable One... but now it looks like I don't have much of a choice!
- Your son's profile has the subscription
- Have your son set your xbox as his "home console"
- You sign in on the xbox and you can take advantage of all the subscription perks (plus, if you buy any digital games outright, buy them under his profile and you'll be able to play them on xbox too)
- He signs in on the PC and he can take advantage of all the subscription perks
BUT, if you have another PC or another xbox in the house that you want to use to play... *YOU* can play with them from your xbox (as long as they're signed in under your son's profile), but your son won't be able to play with them on the PC at the same time (it will force you to choose which one of the "guest" machines is playing under his profile)
I'm not sure how MS limits account use either... The 3 of us were playing some game together at the same time no problem, but another time my one son kept getting kicked from grounded... it might have been a separate crashing bug issue though.
I think I will stick to ea play conversion and hope there will be more promotions in the upcoming years !!

Some games get a free 10 hour trial on EA Play when they launch. Sports games take a few months to show up there though.
It works, has worked for over a year now. The thread discussing it has lots of information in the thread summary: microsoft-store-upgrade-xbox-live-gold- ... 1-2290218/
1. I got on the chat, and after two agents I got someone to successfully cancel my ultimate subscription even though it was set to end in March of 2021 . It wouldn't let me cancel through microsoft.comfor some reason. You must make sure your ultimate is cancelled and you must go into your subscriptions and verify isn't there
2. Go to Costco and order 2 Xbox Live 12-month cards and 1 6 month card
3. Go to your Xbox account under redeem code and redeem one of your three codes at a time accepting the free one month per card
4. Now go to PC game pass and accept the trial for $1
5. Now go to Game Pass ultimate and you can subscribe for $16.99 one time fee, you will no longer be able to get the $1 deal because you've used that the first time around
6. You can now safely turn off reoccurring building for ultimate only
I now have Game Pass ultimate until August 2023
Does anyone know if we can stack multiple years of gamepass like we can up to 3 of gold? so for example, get 2 years of prepaid costco ea play year, apply, then after that pay trough microsoft account an extra year?
Question: When you apply 2 gift cards ea play, does the remaining time reflect? More importantly, after you already have some time on your ea play for xbox, does anyone know if the system allows you to buy an extra year using microsoft store and if it shows the correct time ( 2 or 3 years ) of ea play?
That would be an way for those who are still on ultimate until jun/2022 to get close to an extra year of gamepass ultimate for ~90 bucks (average 7.5m of ultimate when you convert 1y EA Play -> 4 months Ultimate ).
Did anyone try something similar? Thanks guys.
