    • I wonder if this means buy EA Play one year to top up your account by November 9th or in December?

    • I thought the RFD Game Pass thing from earlier this year / last year was just a good deal in general, but man after experiencing it, I would have paid full price for it. It is a fantastic service, and will only be bolstered with EA Play

They announced that they'll extend existing Ultimate subscribers who are also EA Play/Access subscribers at a 3:1 ratio for their remaining EA Play/Access months. There's a thread discussing it here: microsoft-ea-access-play-merge-game-pas ... h-2401871/

    • Can we pay $19.99 extra a month for EA play+ like on PC?

I would love to play Madden 21 and NHL 21 right away don't feel like waiting until February for Madden and April for NHL.

There hasn't been any mention of this yet in any outlets that I've seen.

    • Slayaway was just on sale just over a week ago for $4.24 and I thought about buying it but didn't. Happy now. It's super annoying that they put a game on sale right before giving it away for free though. Yes, I know they want go gain a profit, but it seems kinda shady to do that.

Not everyone has game pass and 4 bucks isn't much money. Think about how annoyed you'd be if you just bought Doom Eternal for $50 to $60.

It's important to remember this is the "basic" level of EA Play and the latest sports game (madden 21/nhl 21) aren't available regardless.

Thanks. Just wondering when to do it by. I am assuming they'll just make it so you can't buy EA Play/Access at some point once the transition happens. Or maybe they will, who knows.

They said they're going to round up, so if you buy a year now, you'll get the full 4 months. I assume if Ultimate subscribers try to buy it after the fact, it will block them somehow? But no idea what'll happen if you buy a digital code elsewhere and try to apply it. It might only convert at MSRP, the way that Live Gold codes do once you're an Ultimate subscriber.

I refuse to get ultimate because after the cheap months expire its way too expensive for me. Also you dont own the games either. Likewise for gold, but i use gold for online gaming, the “free” games were an added bonus and used to be half decent in the past

Worth noting that when you upgrade from Gold to Ultimate, they convert it at 1:1. There's a very long thread discussing it. So if you've got Gold any way, and particularly if you're the type to stack Gold for multiple years in advance, that effectively free (the cost of one month) ultimate upgrade is totally worth it.
