    • Would this be a better experience than on PC for a 13-year old? He is slowly getting me bankrupt with all his demands for the PC gear upgrades.

Depends, not all games are on pc or Xbox. Do you know what types of games he likes? If he usually likes pc only games, then suggest just stick with that. Get him an RX 570 graphics card for 160 taxes in and it should play most games at 1080p resolution at medium to high settings.

The Xbox one S is just not strong, if you really want to replace his PC habit, you have to go Xbox one X system which is usually on sale for 469.99 and you can get it at shoppers drug mart on a 20x points day which will get you $140 in points which you can use to buy another game and controller

the pc would also be good if your 13 year old wants to make $ and go to waterloo of software eng or comp sci.

    • If your only concern is money, then yes the xbox is going to be cheaper in the long run. Plus if he wants to upgrade at a later point it is much easier to sell consoles for market price than it is a pc/ or pc parts imo.

However, If he uses a mouse and keyboard to play fortnite, then good luck convincing him to switch to a controller.

    • Cost wise, yeah a $300 Xbox is far cheaper than a PC because a good graphics card is $300 at least by itself. But you’d have to talk to your kid. You can use keyboard and mouse on console too if they want for Fortnite.

He’d only get 60fps but he can use keyboard and mouse on Xbox he’ll just be pooled with PC players instead of Xbox ones.

Depends on TV location too. My guy doesn't have one in his room, so when he uses the console to play he has to take over the living room... If I send him to play on my old gaming rig (780 Ti which is more than sufficient for 1080 gaming), he has the whole office to himself & I don't have to listen to mic chatter

You should get a PS4 instead as you won't have to pay for online if he's only playing Fortnite.

Exactly. This is way overpriced still. Fortnite is free and we're nearly through Q1 2019 and they're still asking $300+ for Xbone S? Gimme a break, should be $200 reg. price by now; with MK should be like $230-250 to qualify as a deal.

Only teenagers gonna buy Xbone S in this day and age for $300. The alleged reg. price of $380 for the Fortnite bundle is simply ludicrous. I'm not sure how much the game currency they include w/Fortnite is worth but in any event, $200 should be reg price for a standard Xbone S bundle.

Rofl rofl, when you reach the age of 20 and understand the value of money then you'll understand $300 is a total rip for Xbone S given what it's sold for even over 2 years ago when on sale. Until then keep wasting your fast food/retail/parent's money on overpriced stuff I guess? ROFL

The no-disc-drive Xbone that's supposed to be coming out is just going to be another rip--they'll probably sell that for $200 while the reality is that's what the current one should be selling for. Whoever buys that at whatever ludicrous price they ask for it is again either a sucker or a teenager. That thing should be $99...$149 tops. We'll see what it comes out at but I'm guessing it'll be $200+.
