If they actually did this on the product page as you mistakenly assume it must to qualify as Bait & Switch, then they would get huge fines on a daily basis for such a blatant scam. This way they fool the naive and still scam.
It's crystal-clear Bait and Switch tactics at work, but Staples keeps doing it week after week.
For example, go here and click Add to Cart on this awesome $99 Brother MFC-L8850CDW Multifunction Color Laser Printer that has literally been active and listed on Staples.ca for MONTHS. At some point, one of the standards commissions need to shut this crap down.

It's really a joke, as those same items are still showing "In Stock" on the Walmart.ca site, and it looks like they are just trying to get as many people signing up for WM online accounts.
I got real lucky with a couple - got the Berry Blue on the last BF sale (the last they were really seen) and picked up an Orange recently when a single unit miraculously came in stock at The Source. I was sure that Orange was going to be cancelled, like 75% of my clearance orders at The Source.
I fell in love with it when it first came out overseas, and almost bought one for $100 on Amazon. Preordered as soon as I could after Sony announced it was being released in NA.
Also my Crystal one from Walmart shipped, so now I'll have an extra controller 🤪
But I still like the hardware and the odd exclusive here and there, so I remain a tenuous customer. It's truly a Love-Hate relationship, but if Sony is lying about PS5 BC and it'll turn out to be some form of "streaming or remaster BC solution" (or anything that "costs more") then I think that's it for me and I'll either go Xbox exclusive or drop consoles entirely and keep my Steam library. It'll be "the straw that broke the camel's back" time with these bozos.
I realize that a fanboy's mentality is to 100% support the object of your adulation, and never, ever, ever offer any critical or negative remarks about a product, no matter how bad they might be, that is NOT how normal people think. If the average person buys a horrible game, it's a horrible game not some pie-in-the-sky "it'll be great once the patches hit" and if we don't get BC like MS offers, then regular people don't compensate with idiotic remarks like "who cares about old games anyway?'"
You Sony fanboys see me posting critical comments about Sony then automatically go into MS attack mode, when in reality I have probably bought, and still own, more Sony items than all of you combined. I hope at one point you guys "get it".
Otherwise on topic... quick turn around on my shipment notice was at my front door at lunch
I still have a few PS3's BNIB, like the Gold, Red Crystal and Blue Crystal models, along with some Xbox 360's like the Blue, Pink, Fable 3, Tomb Raider, etc., but these last-gen ones were all got for 1-game trades (Best Buy - remember that one?) or bought on clearance, usually from closing stores like FS, Rogers, Blockbuster, etc. I still remember finding that Fable 3 XB360 (one of my favorite controllers ever) sitting on clearance at a FS.
Also I managed to snag a Crystal one with a trade-in at EB (it's actually a better deal to trade-in now with the sale than it is during a regular controller trade-in day), I didn't realize the back panel is white >_> I thought the whole thing was the clear plastic lol
Hell, I haven't even opened up a lot of mine...
