    • Guessing the MVC2 cabinet won't go on sale?
It's -$100 at Best Buy and other locations, which is probably as good as it gets for a new cabinet, and as much as I recall seeing for the life of the MvC1 cabinet.

Atgames has never shipped to Canada - you have to use Shippsy or another cross-border service if you want to buy.

I got pacman 7 game oke up from Costco for 299 kids never touched it so sold it 4 months later
It's not for the kids. These retro games are laughable to them.

    • The Vpins seem like a good price at $499. I’ve been contemplating building one. But I might be better buying one of these and modding it. Hmm.
I was thinking the same thing.
I went into the store to actually look at one. I was not impressed by it.
They had an arcade1up Marvel pinball beside the toyshock pinball and the 1up is much nicer build.
The bezel around the screen is nicer on the 1up. The plunger also looks nicer.
The 1up is actually at the proper height as well. The toyshock is a lot shorter.

    • I'm not playing much on my Neo Geo MVSX with a bunch of games. I really cannot imagine people would buy these cabinets with 1 or a few games. Don't be mistaken, kids won't play it, it's for older guys like us that grew up with these old games.
Yup. I have a full setup that transforms to a virtual pinball layout and thousands of games and it sits there for weeks at a time untouched. These are a great novelty but will eventually become a very very large paperweight.

    • Bought the original nba jam cab from the brick a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it. My wife and I play almost every night. Before I bought I read that many with multiple arcade1up cabs keep coming back to the sports cabs as the replay value remains outstanding compared to a beat em up. I built my own mame cab a while ago and hardly played it because it had too many games (have everything, play nothing) so I actually like having a limited number of names on a good looking cab. If I didn't have my can already I'd definitely pick up the shaq edition at this sale price.

    • Bought a neo geo cabinet 16 years ago on Craigslist for $400, came with a 25" CRT, and a working 25c insert coin door mechanism. SF2 champion edition, SF2 Turbo, Ultimate MK3 JAMMA circuit boards, and their respective marquees. Still have the machine to this day, and CRT still works. Was able to research and figure out a year into owning it, the pinouts of the CRT, and spliced it into a VGA cable. Hooked it up to a PC and downloaded Mame.

Enjoyed it a lot more over the years. But most of the time it sat there when the novelty wore off. Throughout the 16 years, I revisit it every year or every couple of years or so, when the sudden wave of nostalgia washes over me to reminisce the times again. The most annoying part was updating / re-downloading the entire Mame ROMs set, going through the different PC windows OS (XP --> Windows 7 --> Windows 10), finding out and figuring out how to get the CRT to output properly again in the correct 15khz picture signal with all these custom drivers.

I had thoughts of it of tinkering with it again, with better PC parts I now have lying around.

    • dang, less than an hour and back up to full price, would have bought one for 499
I love the Simpsons game and Turtles in Time... good thing about these games is that they're 4 players.

However, games like this where you have essentially infinite lives can get old pretty quick. Unless you artificially limit yourself to a certain number of lives, it's only a matter of time before you pass the game. So how many times are you really going to play the same beat-em-up through?

If you get a fighting game (Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, Killer Instinct, etc.) you need to reach a certain level of skill before you can pass the game. Plus you can try passing the game with all the different characters. And you can play vs. another player and that will never get old. Same kind of thing with the sports games.

That's why I actually prefer playing the SNES version of Turtles in Time... you get a fixed number of continues so you don't just pass the game every time you play.

I kind of wish these machines would add different modes. Hard = 5 quarters, Medium = 10 quarters, Easy = 20 quarters, Very Easy = infinite quarters.

    • I’m quite interested in the tabletop pinball at $200 but I literally can’t find a review online or any information if you can hack them (or mod them) to add more tables or anything.
They are Canada only. Never released in the US. Just didnt sell as they were priced too high.

$199 is what they should have been.

I have the same questions and interest...therefore I did my research. ;)

From what I found out, it seems like the tabletop and the legged ones are basically the same thing. the screen size might be different, but the hardware is identical.

The reviews that I found complain about the lag from the flipper buttons which makes ball trapping a challenge.

There's an interesting topic on them on Pinside: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/new-3-4-size-pinball-at-walmart-12-built-in-games-

As for mods, there are some links, but cannot vouch any of them..they look pretty straight-forward if you are inclined in that type of stuff.

      https://youtu.be/X9joMdkM7rc and https://nicole.express/2020/modding-the ... house.html

      enjoy :)
