View allI quickly realized there was no point in buying a game (on psn) unless I wanted to play it immediately since it would go on sale within a month for either the same price or cheaper ..
+ pc game pass 3 months for 1$ ...
Kingdom Rush tower defence series (prob start with the original?).
Orcs Must Die 1+2
Total War: Rome I'd assume any of the other similar games in that genre made by same dev/publisher? Total War: Warhammer series supposed to be good.
If you own original Total War: Rome and want more of same then try the mod https://www.europabarbarorum.com/EB1/
Yikes, I feel you. Mine says Sept 19. Not as bad as yours but it's already been Sooooo long

found it pretty useful

it is not better than a gaming pc but a gaming pc itself. it is not for everyone but who doesn't wanna play witcher on 540p with 30hz I guess
with a steam deck, you will be able to play 3A games with a PC-level setting on a portable device. Not to mention the (developing) size and low price level of the steam game library (VPN- get you 5 cad per game, 20 per 3A). You can play old Nintendo-only games on emulators and there is a Switch EMU for PC too so i won't be surprised if people move that to deck
My Nintendo switch sees a lot more usage compared to my PC, not primarily because of Nintendo first party ports, which I admit are great!, but because it’s portable. With this I can enjoy all my steam games without needing to stream to a phone through another software and still needing the PC to run the game.
It was worth it for me at full price and absolutely a no-brainer at the sale price of $11.
Some of the best online co-op I've played; procedurally generated environments, endless swarms of bugs to blast, fun weapons with upgrades, and best of all the developers are constantly releasing great DLC for free.

.. built a new PC and all I want to play are old console ports of JRPGs I missed in the past decade
I'd say AAA games can be typically found cheaper elsewhere, but a lot of indie games I personally found cheaper on Steam or only available on there.
Toejam and Earl back in the groove $2.62
Seeing the same indie games with the same price they've always been for the last 5+ years is sad. Some games I've been watching have actually increased in their sale price like Divinity Original Sin, while others had their ATL years ago and yet to match it such as Papers Please.
If I were to get off my butt and actually make a video on youtube or a proper list, I have found dozens and dozens of fantastic games that go under 5 - 10 dollars for sale on a frequent basis.
Off the top of my head:
If you like Chrono Trigger / classic SNES JRPGs then try Cosmic Star Heroine https://store.steampowered.com/app/2564 ... r_Heroine/ which is only $3.39
If you like Meat Boy / Celeste then try Horace https://store.steampowered.com/app/629090/Horace/ which is only $6.99
If you are into Metroidvania beat em up type games Guacamelee 1 and 2 are on sale for dirt cheap - https://store.steampowered.com/app/534550/Guacamelee_2/
Loads of other awesome games to be found on Steam if you look into the reviews out there.
