    • I got a game called The Techomancer for under $3. Action RPG that has it's flaws I guess but I tend to like the AA / B-side publishers for games. Enjoyed the hell out of the Two Worlds series for instance.

    • Between amazon and epic, so many games get given away free these days that I've really lost all interested in sales.
same ... + monthly free psn games + websites like psprices.com and you can track prices and get notified ..
I quickly realized there was no point in buying a game (on psn) unless I wanted to play it immediately since it would go on sale within a month for either the same price or cheaper ..
      + pc game pass 3 months for 1$ ...

    • can someoen recommend a fun tower defence and army leading game similar to Total War: Rome?
      Tower defence I enjoyed:
Kingdom Rush tower defence series (prob start with the original?).
      Orcs Must Die 1+2

Total War: Rome I'd assume any of the other similar games in that genre made by same dev/publisher? Total War: Warhammer series supposed to be good.
If you own original Total War: Rome and want more of same then try the mod https://www.europabarbarorum.com/EB1/

It's not an exact science, just a ballpark give or take guesstimate. But take it as a good sign, you may be getting that email soon.
      Nov 7, oof.
Yikes, I feel you. Mine says Sept 19. Not as bad as yours but it's already been Sooooo long 😥

i’m pretty new to Steam, and got some of these cards when i bought a game last week. Are those the same as the ones you are talking about? what do people buy them for?

    • whats so great about the steam deck? why is it better than a gaming PC, can it even play any nintendo-only games?
Because you can bring the Steam Deck onto the subway/GO Train and you can't do that with a gaming PC.

    • Highly highly highly recommend Deep Rock Galactic.
It was worth it for me at full price and absolutely a no-brainer at the sale price of $11.
Some of the best online co-op I've played; procedurally generated environments, endless swarms of bugs to blast, fun weapons with upgrades, and best of all the developers are constantly releasing great DLC for free.

it is not better than a gaming pc but a gaming pc itself. it is not for everyone but who doesn't wanna play witcher on 540p with 30hz I guess :)

with a steam deck, you will be able to play 3A games with a PC-level setting on a portable device. Not to mention the (developing) size and low price level of the steam game library (VPN- get you 5 cad per game, 20 per 3A). You can play old Nintendo-only games on emulators and there is a Switch EMU for PC too so i won't be surprised if people move that to deck

    • Right I guess I can see the appeal from the portability standpoint - realize why it doesn't appeal to people like me though as I prefer to connect to a large 4K screen and play at ultra settings over a small screen, and have a gaming laptop that can handle doing so, I don't commute for work either but guess this would be good to have if I did so.

It’s like having a gaming PC in your palm. It’s a portable console, and for folks like me who can game more on portable systems vs sit-in ones, it’s great. It’s steam games on the go.

My Nintendo switch sees a lot more usage compared to my PC, not primarily because of Nintendo first party ports, which I admit are great!, but because it’s portable. With this I can enjoy all my steam games without needing to stream to a phone through another software and still needing the PC to run the game.

Use IsThereAnyDeal or any of those price curator sites.

I'd say AAA games can be typically found cheaper elsewhere, but a lot of indie games I personally found cheaper on Steam or only available on there.

    • Picked up some decent gems in there that I've been eyeing for a long time, but who even buys brand new games at full price anymore? I mostly just buy games with overwhelmingly positive reviews at 75%+ off. I've been bamboozled too many times by "early access" and pre-ordered games to fall for that scheme again.

    • Good example of why this thread probably isn't worth posting anymore lol. Every other PC game store front has better prices than Steam and many even redeem their codes on Steam.

    • Steam used to advise their clients to put larger discounts to generate larger sales numbers but now it seems they're trying to maximize profits off each individual sale instead.

Seeing the same indie games with the same price they've always been for the last 5+ years is sad. Some games I've been watching have actually increased in their sale price like Divinity Original Sin, while others had their ATL years ago and yet to match it such as Papers Please.

    • Picked up Q.U.B.E. Directors Cut and it is everything I wanted the game to be. It is a puzzle game like something from the Portal series, The Ball, etc. It plays well. It has simplistic graphics but presentation is good. It cost me $2.24 CAN and whatever damn taxes I am charged now on Steam. Not sure if I will get something else but at least this got me back to using my desktop PC again finally.

    • I just want to chime in and say while the AAA games are not as discounted as they used to be, many Indie Games have amazing deals during the Steam sales and are extremely high value for such a low price.

If I were to get off my butt and actually make a video on youtube or a proper list, I have found dozens and dozens of fantastic games that go under 5 - 10 dollars for sale on a frequent basis.

Off the top of my head:

If you like Chrono Trigger / classic SNES JRPGs then try Cosmic Star Heroine https://store.steampowered.com/app/2564 ... r_Heroine/ which is only $3.39

If you like Meat Boy / Celeste then try Horace https://store.steampowered.com/app/629090/Horace/ which is only $6.99

If you are into Metroidvania beat em up type games Guacamelee 1 and 2 are on sale for dirt cheap - https://store.steampowered.com/app/534550/Guacamelee_2/

Loads of other awesome games to be found on Steam if you look into the reviews out there.
