I don’t know about that. Fortnite is bigger than Animal Crossing, and we all know what happened with that Animal Crossing Switch.

That they were going for close to a 1000 for months until they had a restock?

There must be some die hards that want the color controllers in their collection. Or even a Fortnite Edition.

I kind of do. I want some of these cool looking docks but I don't want to buy another system for it. I can live without the joy cons since I have enough. I don't want Fortnite though. I assume Fortnite through some money at Nintendo for this. There's no way Nintendo would do this just out of the blue.

    • Just FYI for you boomers Fortnite is a free to play game that comes pre-installed on this switch. So the game itself is not a bonus of any meaningful value.

What's included is some in-game money, which is used to buy outfits and such, as well as one free outfit. If you can choose between this and the Mario Kart bundle, take the Mario Kart bundle.

and an exclusive skin that you can't purchase in-game. The 2000 Vbucks are worth about $20, but the codes are going for $200~.

If you want a brand new $250 Switch, this is the bundle you buy.

I imagine that was also at least partially related to the fact that there were no switches of ANY kind available for months at the start of the pandemic, and people were dying for entertainment options for their kids.

    • I still prefer the Mario Kart 8 bundle deal, same price for a paid game + 3 months of membership

Guess it depends if you want to deal with trying to sell the skin online - seems like if it is indeed going for $200+ as claimed above, this bundle is a better deal (though I dunno why people are paying $200+ for the skin, when they could just buy the bundle, claim the skin code, and then sell the Switch? Seems like that would be a better value, unless used Switches are selling for $200+ below retail)

This skin thing totally doesn't make sense, I suspect this is a sale promotion trick from Fortnite or some other retailers make you feel that you can make a profit of it. I can foresee the sharp drop in price of this skin.

    • This seems like a pretty rare bundle if it is only available for this Cyber Monday ..... or while supplies last. Seems like a very limited run.

    • why would you buy this model. Its the same price as other bundles, but you actually get a retail game.

For people that are REALLY into Fortnite, the exclusive skin that comes with the bundle is the attraction here. I don't care about that shit, but I know that a LOT of people do (particularly, but not exclusively, younger gamers).

    • Comments in this thread are hilarious.

If someone is into Fortnite, you're getting $20 worth if in-game currency and an exclusive skin for the price of a Switch. Yes the Mario Kart bundle is a better value. Different strokes for different folks.

Let's not forget a complete unique and custom dock and joycons... What console comes with the Mario Kart bundle? Oh right.

lolwut. Your tinfoil hat is too tight man. It's there to sell units to kids (or god forbid adults) that play Fortnite, there is no conspiracy.

You can easily get the cost of mario kart from the fortnite stuff. Especially when it was on sale for 49.99 and is bundled with mario party for 129. I sold some stupid pick axe skin for like 150$ that was free with any purchase. So you lock it behind a 400$ purchase they won't drop much and if it does it will be temporary.

    • This will be way more limited than the MK bundle. And it is unique physically, unlike the MK one. This one will be worth more down there road I bet..

Its already worth more given the skins sell for more than MK on resale market (at least before Cyber Monday). The price of the skin likely will dive a bit the next few days but over time it will go back up.

    • Anyone heard if Shoppers got stock of these?

Be willing to upgrade our gen 1 Switch for the son, but would prefer to cash in on some 20x points...
