It’s a good game. Just get prepared to sink 50+ hours into it.

I think this is the flash sale though who knows if it's for December or November.

Also, Persona 5.... I'm about 8 hours in and having played P4G, it's well worth it at $80.... let alone $40.

Some might say, it's "Game of the Year"..(whatever that means...)

It's also, on average, 96 hours to finish the game alone.

    • FYI for anyone who gets Persona 5, I would highly recommend changing the language to Japanese. I much prefer the Japanese voice acting. You need to download from the PS Store but it's free.

    • Anyone played Nioh? I've been thinking of trying it. Looks like an action/rpg/hack n' slash? Usually my kind of thing. $40 bucks seems ok considering it includes all the dlc?

    • Nioh is great, but HARD. Think Dark Souls merged with Ninja Garden Black.

Its definitely worth the $40 but its not your standard hack and slash. Gameplay is very punishing, like dark souls. I paid $30 for the season pass to get all the DLC back in Sept.

I recommend to watch some reviews and game play videos before you buy. I died about 40 times on the first boss and took me about 3 hours. Then it got easier and easier and now I'm close to 150 hours into it

Thanks, I'll check out some videos. I tried dark souls once, but I wasn't a big fan of the more punishing nature of the game. Nioh might not be for me.

    • Everyone should buy and play what remains of edith finch. I was one of the people that dislike 'walking' simulator type games, but Edith Finch is amazing and so unique in the way it blends gameplay with the story.

I would say its worth the $40 for the whole bundle - but then I paid about $90 for the same thing (so my brain needs to justify that).

Gameplay wise, it starts out very similar to the souls games. Combat mechanics feeling nearly identical, with a different control layout and much more accessible ranged weapon set.

There is fewer weapon choices, but with more unique weapon sets. As you progress, you will see the combat is far more precise than a souls game. Combine that with the number of skills for each weapon, as well as the supplementary ninjitsu and magic skills, and there is some serious depth to mastering it.

Stick with it long enough and you realize the game is a pretty fast paced action rpg with diablo level loot. The difficulty and rewards spike massively, and if you stick with it the higher difficulty feels like a different game. IMO, it suffers at this point as enemy damage gets so high you will commonly die in 1 or 2 hits. That said, I've probably put around 200 hours into the first two difficulties (there are three), and enjoyed it all.

I agree that it is absolutely worth people's time. It was really unique and left me thinking about it for days. However, I think the price is still pretty high considering the length of the experience. The whole thing runs about 3 hours if I recall correctly.
I played on PC the first time, but will gladly purchase again on PS4 when it hits $5-10.

      The text is still English.

    • Nioh's great if you enjoy Bloodborne/Dark Souls type games. If you've never played these kind of games then prepare for a huge learning curve. Cover your windows in case you try to throw your controller through it.

    • Nioh Complete Edition is a fantastic deal.

Hellblade is another I've been needing to get.

If you don't own Uncharted Collection... you can't pass on it for $12. You just can't.

    • Nioh is pretty tempting. It's a KOEI Tecmo joint so I don't think it'll get that much cheaper.

How do people feel about the DLCs? Worth the extra $15 or so?

Also, PC version seems like it avoids the issue with the resolution dropping to 720p when running at 60fps (which, given the kind of game this is, seems like a must) so that might be the better way to go.

I'm at that point where I don't like games where it's trial-and-error with "get good" difficulty advice, but I love Nioh. If you enjoyed Ninja Gaiden on Xbox, this is like that but with a way better camera lol.

I only beat half of Nioh (40 hours so far) and it's still my top 3 games of this gen.

It's very learnable, very quickly. The loot drops are helpful, and aside from leveling up the equipment helps too. For bosses, I check YouTube for strategies if getting frustrated. You can also infuse your gear with magic (like water) for some bosses and it makes the battles way easier.

If you really get stuck, there's an item easily farmed, some sort of cup, and it calls for help online. Someone over levelled will join you to help get through the boss or whatever you're stuck on.
