Originally released in November 2017, Star Wars Battlefront II features a canon single-player campaign set after the events of Return of the Jedi, along with a sprawling multiplayer mode with support for up to 40 players where you can play as iconic characters from every era including Darth Vader, General Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Rey and more!
Call of Duty: WWII was announced as the first free game earlier this week and both games can be added to your library through the PlayStation Store online or from the PlayStation Store app on your console.
- Call of Duty: WWII (regularly $54.99)
- Star Wars Battlefront II (regularly $26.99)
Star Wars Battlefront II is available for free starting June 2 at 11:00 AM ET (Call of Duty: WWII is already available) until July 7 at 10:59 AM ET. All free games are accessible for as long as you have a PS Plus membership if you add them to your library before the monthly deadline.

View allHowever I am a CoD MW player which means my hard drive is dedicated to one game only.
I'm having fun with it so far, playing the campaign.
I quite enjoyed it. I know the game got a lot of hate when it released 2 years ago, but all I can say is that it's beautiful and runs great, and the campaign missions were very entertaining, both on land and in space.
I recommend everyone give it a try.
Two ways I checked online (browser):
Method 1
1. Log into your account - on your top right icon click on it to access "Download List" click on it
2. Verify in your download list whether or not Star Wars Battlefront II appears
Method 2
1. Log into your account - on your top right icon click on it to access "Account Settings" click on it
2. For me this brought me to a different portal which required another login so login again
3. Click on the "Transaction History" link on the left menu (near the bottom of the menu on the left)
4. It's not very descriptive but luckily you should only have a few transactions for June - click each one and you should have a "Purchase Order" for "STAR WARS Battlefront II".
That means, check your library - is it there? If yes, then you've presumably got the game. I have no interest in playing so I didn't actually check/install that it was on my PS4 but online using both methods above I verified I have it associated to my account. Whether or not it "sticks" after this month, time will tell.
Good luck!
I am having the same problem...cannot add Battlefront 2 to my basket.
Offers version option button...and when clicked shows 2 buttons regular priced and Free but both buttons are greyed out and unselectable/unclickable?
Are Sony aware of this problem that is still there not allowing us to add to our shopping basket this free game?
BF2 seems good too, the graphics are gorgeous.
And Sony has had the BF 1 & 2 Deluxe digital pack on sale for $7-$10 many times in 2019-2020, and I personally grabbed it for $7 awhile back, which is $3.50 per game and it includes all the DLC.
It's bargain bin no matter which way you slice it.
On that note, I played the COD WW2 single campaign and quit playing half way through. That was enough to remind me why I don't like COD games.
Along with cod ww2 that went live last week.
