    • Wooo! Two games I almost bought every time on sale. We wanted to try Conan but held off and I was curious about The Surge after watching gameplay.

      Awesome month for me.

    • I'm happy with Conan Exiles, but kind of bummed-out about The Surge, as I bought it on sale a few months ago.

When did you transition from Kid to Adult? It's only been out 5 years! Oh almost 6. Oh maybe I am getting old...

    • The surge is actually quite good, it's an easier Souls type game with a camera that works better. I enjoyed it quite a bit more than most of the Souls series.

Conan is a joke game, this isn't ok to give away trash.

Well isn't that the truth? Why you frowning on hearing the truth? One was on sale for ever another is a failed mediocre open world survival.

    • Conan is an amazing game. It is fun, basically an adult version of Minecraft, and I spend countless hours building an empire.....

However..... if you are like me who likes to build an empire, be prepared to be lag to death......

My point is its the same response month after month, on free games. Not frowning on "the truth", I could give a shit if a free game is crap. It's free.

Not really, you pay $6 or $10 rental fee for this crap. Which was again forced on you, if you want to play online. He's just expressing his opinions on something which he "Pays for", without being abusive.

      1) You're assuming (s)he's a subscriber.
      2) I don't pay any rental fee for "this crap", but I will play the free games that I enjoy. If I don't like it, it's literally zero cost to me.
      3) Imagine a world where all 20,000+ RFD users go to a thread about a free game to "express their opinion" of a game. "This free game sucks!". "So? It's free."

Well, I get it. Honestly i think it's less about whether it's the truth or not, and more just that some people are getting worn down by the pervasive, ubiquitous cynicism that's basically everywhere these days.

I mean, sometimes I order takeout from "Restaurant X", and it's lousy and it's cheap and I know it, but it's what was convenient and it's what I have at the time. That doesn't mean I want to read a dozen comments from different people on how much it sucks or how awful everyone and everything and life is in general because everything isn't perfect. I know what it is already. I just want to eat it or not eat it, and move on with my life.

Everyone wants to be heard as they vent and gripe about their hot takes these days, but frankly it's just cynical background noise that we all wade through while trying to distill a thread or conversation for the information we actually want. Whether subjectively accurate or not, I can understand the tiresome and seemingly endless task of drudging through a swamp of uninspired and unoriginal "well this sucks" posts in order to see if there's any content that actually of merit or interest. It's exhausting. Imagine living locked in a house with a dozen or so people, most of whom just walk around every day pointing out what's lackluster or devious or wrong with everything somebody wants to discuss or think about. That's basically the internet in 2019.

It's not free. You have been brainwashed by Sony. It's time that you realize, If you stop paying $10 monthly plus subscription, you can't play this "Rental" games anymore.

I haven't been brainwashed at all. I knowingly bought a yearly pass for $45 to play online, as I deemed it acceptable to pay $3.75 per month for online play, and the online play is the ONLY reason I bought it. I view the free monthly games as nothing more than a "bonus" and they did not factor into my decision making process.

It helps to look at things logically when doing a price analysis before a purchase and don't account for the "freebies" if you don't know what they are. I wasn't happy that they moved to a subscription cost as I remember the good ol' days LOL.
