At $5-ish a game, it's a solid deal. It was weird playing ACII after all the improvements in gameplay and movement, but fun nonetheless.
One of my favorite games of the generation but yes it has been way cheaper. There's nothing special about this sale in general and all the discounts are luke warm at best.
Lost Legacy for $9.99 is the only noteworthy deal here imo
You would go through his early years training in the way of the sword, having duels against samurais, joining wars, then the fight against the Yoshioka school (culminating in a Musashi vs the entire school fight where he starts using his dual wield technique) and a final boss fight against Sasaki Kojiro. The DLC would be his life after the duel (Tokugawa Ieyasu and other wars + duels).
Would make for a seriously awesome game.
I don't like doing something "for the trophy" but rather because it's fun and immersive and the trophy is an 'added bonus' of sorts.
It is also an EXTREMELY easy Platinum because the only things you actually have to go out of your way to find for it are the upgrades (Hot Springs for health, Bamboo Strikes for resolve, Shinto shrines for charms, etc). The collectibles (banners, records, artifacts) don't count.
Playing Warzone and TLOU II currently but can't seem to play TLOU II for more than an hour at a time. It's a "heavy" game. Very rewarding, intense, and fun but also a little draining.
picked up MGSV Definitive Edition for $7.99.
heard good things but never actually played
Just wanted to express some thanks for the effort.
You could absolutely enjoy one but not the other and I'd say that wouldn't necessarily make one better.
GOT is filled with action and things to do. The combat is visceral and punchy. You really feel like a badass samurai. The art direction of the world is phenomenal too.
An AC game set in Japan would still be an extremely different narrative than what we got with GoT even though GoT had a number of the same elements (like stealth). I think there's actually a chance they're worried about making it because it would be nothing like what "casuals" would expect from a Japan game.
I don't doubt, especially after GoT success, that they won't make one at some point.
It's basically a better version of an Assassin's Creed game set in Japan. Sucker Punch really knocked it out of the park.
Since she's a kid I'm sure it won't matter and she'll have fun so you're probably fine buying it, but for adults on a limited gaming schedule I would say there isn't much point in buying it.
