Black Friday is only a few weeks away and Nintendo has officially unveiled their upcoming Black Friday 2020 deals in Canada!

These deals will be available at several Canadian retailers including Amazon.ca, Best Buy, The Source and others starting November 20 -- we've listed this year's Black Friday deals to give you a preview of what's available.

Starting November 25

This year's most notable deal is the Nintendo Switch bundle with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe -- the bundle is similar to Nintendo's Black Friday bundles from 2018 and 2019, but now includes the improved V2 Nintendo Switch console and adds a three-month membership to Nintendo Switch Online (valued at $9.99).

There are no Black Friday deals for Nintendo Switch Lite, Joy-Cons or the Switch Pro Controller mentioned in the sneak peek, but Nintendo does note that more deals will be added throughout the holiday season, so it's possible that the popular accessories will be included at a later time.

Nintendo's Black Friday 2020 deals will be available starting Friday, November 20 at various retailers across Canada.

    • They've been recycling the same bundles since 2018.

At least this time they used V2 of the Switch and not V1 like last year.

    • I'm at the awkward stage in the Switch Lifecycle now where I own every first party game........

I wonder if I should pick up a second "newer" Switch......

I would wait for one of those EB Games trade in deals - Trade in your old switch to get credit towards a new Switch V2 one with warranty. IIRC costs about $100 out of pocket. Just remember that due to Nintendo being Nintendo, some games save data to your switch (even ones that support cloud saves) so you might lose some progress if you trade it in.

I would sell the switch instead of trading it in. Considering the switch is still somewhat hard to find, you still can get over $300 for it and if it's a V1, you're going to fetch almost retail price

What makes the V1 worth more? Better components to they break down less?

Possibility of homebrew with unpatched V1 units.

I traded a BNIB V2 unit for the V1 unit with hardware exploit recently (a friend's console)... No regrets.

It ended up being fairly inexpensive on my part (200K PC points for 300$ + 20x promotion)

The Switch is absolutely not "still somewhat hard to find" right now lmao. If you're okay with the Animal Crossing version (no idea why you wouldn't) there's literally tens of thousands of units out there across all retailers.

Also finding someone to offload a hackable Switch onto actually requires effort and given the original poster (kanewtz) lists their location as Sudbury they're not finding someone very easily.

    • Let's hope for controller discounts.

Otherwise, basically same as last year. Switch (newer version as OP said) + Mario Kart 8
Let's Go is the same price drop as last year at Walmart.
And the $49.99 games are ok if you can get another discount, like SDM or something.

    • I like how Nintendo has the same Mario Kart bundle for Black Friday for three years in a row for the exact same price. 3 months of Nintendo Switch online is just a $10 value add bonus, nothing big.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a must have for all new Switch owners, so the bundle does make sense.

    • Is it possible that this bundle is still a V1 since it’s the same as last year’s when they were trying to offload their V1 switches?

    • I think I'll bite for Luigi's Mansion 3 for 50 bucks, game seems amazing and I doubt Nintendo will be selling it for less.

That’s why I’m holding off upgrading to the Switch V2. I’m not sure if my Switch is the hackable version (I bought it pretty early in the Switch’s life cycle), but I would care more about a better device rather than the ability to hack it, so here’s hoping a better model releases sometime in the near future.

    • Just bought the switch and grabbed animal Crossing for the wife... Was really hoping there would be 1 game I wanted on sale. Hopefully others go on sale. Haha I don't want any of these games shown. Maybe Splatoon but I was really hoping Mario oddessey or donkey Kong went on sale 😔

Luigi's Mansion 3 is well worth it for $50 imo. I regretted selling it for $60 after I beat it, so I'm going to buy it back again lol. The game is only ~15 hours long but it's very high quality and has decent replay value.

Link's Awakening is also decent if you haven't played the original, but it has frame rate issues and it's very short (took me ~10 hours to beat).
