Get ready for the restart of the NHL season with NHL 20, because the popular game is on sale for $11.99 (regularly $59.99) on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One -- a savings of $48.00!

Originally released in September 2019, NHL 20 is the latest iteration of EA Sports' popular NHL video game series, with familiar game modes like Hockey Ultimate Team and new signature shot styles for stars including Alex Ovechkin, Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine and more. For reference, $11.99 is a new historical low for the digital version of NHL 20, as the disc version was slightly less at $9.99 in May.

This deal is available at the Microsoft and PlayStation Stores for a limited time. Both versions are digital and available for download immediately after purchase on supported consoles.

    • Not a bad deal, though if you're just looking for a short fix, keep in mind that the game is also available through EA Access (along with all of EA's other 'vault' games) for $5/month or $30/year.

Also worth noting that NHL 21 won't come out until October this year.

    • I bought it back in feb for $25 and its been played a couple times only. Really should be a $29,99 at launch game to be honest. Every year is basically the same.

    • Anyone remember ESPN Hockey on the original XBOX.
Every season the new rosters were just updated. No need to buy a new game for 70$ thats worth 12$ 7months later

    • I'm glad that I waited for this to drop. I missed the other deals when it was $10 for disc version but I'm fine with a digital copy as I don't have to worry about scratch or damage disc over time.

    • I would get this if it’ll transfer and look good on the PS5. Didn’t Sony say most PS4 games will be playable on PS5 without the $10 surcharge they did for PS3 to PS4.

I know it wont happen because Fifa can basically release the same game every and make millions, but they really should release sports games every two/three years with some DLC's every year at 29.99. I haven't purchased an NHL game at full price since probably NHL 17? I've waited until they drop to 29,99 because like you said...it's pretty much the same thing every year.

I'll probably wait until the first next-gen NHL/FIFA before buying another one of these games at full price.

I believe all the EA Sports games coming out will be compatible on PS5 free of charge. Atleast for NHL 21 and FIFA 21.

    • Many hate on EA but right now buying this is better than following what that league is doing with the NHL playoffs and what they did with the NHL Draft. You can with this game actually play out the real season, have better refereeing, and not have the Bruins missing almost over half their roster due to unfit to play or COVID19 unfit to play. Absolute joke the NHL is right now. Also at first I thought this was a physical copy but not. I will get my hands on a physical copy at some point just for the season but I will buy it used.

Either I'm not playing right or I should adjust my settings but seems like I never get any powerplay opportunities whereas the AI gets at least 2 or 3 a game. Granted, I dont really touch the settings much so that could be it. The only way I get penalties is if I jack all the AI penalties to 100.

That is definitely odd. What level of play are you playing at?

Pro despite being able to beat them 90% of the time. I find All-Star unbearable at times that make the game too unrealistic.

    • Let's be real, how amped can one be to play NHL 20 when the real NHL 20 season is this mess?

I don't game anymore, but if I did, this entire enterprise would be depressing.

I'll take Anno 1800, if I'm going to play a fiction.

Forget about the “season”, buy this if you like hockey games and want for cheap. It has many modes, and is a fun couch game with friends, something I definitely do 1-3 times a year with friends while drinking (pre covid days of course)

Food for thought during this funk. Words to ponder.

    • NHL 21 will not be available for Ps5 or Xbox Series X with an upgrade. EA is only making it for current gen this year. They confirmed it last week
