Be the first to play next-gen games from EB Games, because the PlayStation 5 is available to pre-order now!

Originally unveiled in June, the PlayStation 5 is Sony's successor to the PlayStation 4, with support for next-gen games at up to 4K resolution, ray-tracing, super-fast SSD storage and more. Both PS5 models have identical hardware, but the Digital Edition does not have a disc drive, which means it can only play digital games from the PlayStation Store and does not support Blu-ray playback. Other features include:

  • Experience next-gen gaming with a custom CPU and GPU for high-fidelity visuals
  • Integrated I/O and ultra-high-speed SSD for lightning-fast loading
  • New levels of realism with ray-tracing to create true-to-life shadows and reflections
  • Smooth and fluid high-frame rate gameplay at up to 120fps, with support for 120Hz output on 4K displays
  • Compatible with HDR televisions so PS5 games display an unbelievably vibrant and lifelike range of colours
  • New DualSense wireless controller with haptic feedback and dynamic triggers in an iconic, comfortable design
  • Play exclusive titles including Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and more (sold separately)

The PlayStation 5 is scheduled for release on November 12 and pre-orders are only available while supplies last, so reserve yours before stock is gone! All PS5 configurations qualify for free shipping from EB Games.

    • Do you guys think there will be any Black Friday deals (ex: extra controller or bonus game) with the PS5 given that it is only 2 weeks after launch?

    • Charge $130 for a bluray player? More like discouraging people to buy physical copy and resell them, so that they can sell more digital copies which cannot be re-sold

As someone who has owned an xbox one from day one... enjoy playing old games. What's the point of having all this processing power if backwards compatibility is your main selling point?

    • Thanks OP! I'm getting the disk version because I tend to sell single-player games after finishing it.

    • Completely skipped out on this last generation and got a whole bunch of PS4 games I've been meaning to play (Spiderman, LOU2, RDR2)

Would the discless version allow me to download them or am I missing out on buying used games off Kijiji?

    • Got Blu Ray one to run movies / games and resell them once it's done. Also play some of my PS4 games. I'll probably sell my PS4.

you still get xbox live gold, you get 2 free games per months xbox, plus discount on digital games, you will need to pay for that extra on the ps5.

    • Part of me wants to buy this "just because".

The other part of me is saying "You have a PS4 with 10+ games still in the wrapping including God of War, FFVII Remake, GTA V, LIttle Big Planet 2, Battlefield V, etc....and due to having two kids you can't find time to play".

      Then, again YOLO!

Yeah no PS5 for me...I'm too backed up on PS4 games to even bother...once you get married and start a life with kids there's not really much time to play games...I wonder how many others will have the ps4 as their last system for a long while...
