    • What is this used for? Is it much more comfortable that the default buttons?

No, it's extremely helpful to have these in games that require you to aim and press other buttons at the same time.

For example a game like Overwatch, the character with the jetpack is practically unusable on a regular controller because you cannot aim when you are flying because your finger will need to move from the joystick to the jump button but by mapping the jump button to one of these back buttons you can easily fly and keep your finger on the aim stick at the same time.

Lots of different use cases like this for it,
If you do a lot of multiplayer gaming I'd think this would be totally worth it, otherwise it's probably not necessary.

Gaming with paddles/back buttons is odd at first but then if your playing something like Fallout 4 where you have to press a button to interact or pick things up, it becomes more comfortable to use back buttons. It quickly becomes second nature.

I haven't used this addon yet, but I've been using the Xbox Elite with 4 paddles with a Brook X One which allows me to use it on the PS4 and Switch. It was extremely helpful in games like God of War where the helper kid button was out of reach sometimes, having it on a backbutton allowed it to be quickly pressed while you're busy doing other things like strafing projectiles. I love my Brook X One, but it has very slight input lag making it fine for sloppy games like God of War, but precise timing games like Surge 2 and Dark Souls 3 it's just a smidge too slow. Also I like the shoulder buttons on the DS4, more than I like the shoulder buttons of the Xbox controller for major use like attack buttons.

Backbuttons are great, they take some getting used to, but once you've got it figured out, you'll wonder how you played without them.

    • imo this will be permanently added to the upcoming dualshock 5...
and they will make current ds4 usable to PS5 with this add on...
unless they want to milk this and be sold separately for PS5...

People that already have this on other forums have confirmed that is does 100% work.

    • I just got it from Walmart last night and tested it on CoD.
I had set the left button to Jump and right button to crouch. Whenever I press L3 to sprint, 90% of time I will press jump accidentally. I have my middle fingers rest on the back button. Pressing L3 to sprint is more painful now and my hands hurt after 5-6 games.
Definitely need more time to get used to it, however other action games or MMO games might be benefit from it.

    • I didn’t realize this thing would be so limited. I could have easily preordered from EB games but decided to wait, since I had something to return to store anyway. This shit sold out instantly. I suspect each store got maybe 2 attachments.

It’s ridiculous. My only consolation is that even the USA seems to have been shorted. Of course, amazon and eBay are flooded with flippers.

Edit: picked up the last two from the Vaughn location. Thanks for the stock tracker link!

    • I have been using and still trying to get used to it, specially in CoD. I have jump set to left paddle and crouch set to right, whenever I press L3 to sprint I have to super careful not to press jump accidentally.
With other action/action RPG games, it feels good and I can keep my thumbs on the sticks all the time, still takes awhile to get used to it but faster than CoD.

I never used any controller with back buttons before so it's a huge learning curve for me.

    • I don't see why they would put this out unless it's going to be a feature of the PS5 controller.

    • I find the back button attachment a little too big for my hands. Wondering why they didn't make the paddles thinner as they are bulky. Playing Blackout, when I get into a gunfight, I end up pressing the paddles by mistake. I'm constantly adjusting my grip with the controller as it gets uncomfortable. Yes, they need getting used to.

    • Does anybody have one for sale? I'm on the hunt for one and can't seem to find one. PM me if you got one for sale. Thanks

    • These are impossible to find unless you're willing to pay inflated ebay prices. At this point I'm just waiting for the PS5 controller which will obviously have it.
