If you've been thinking about getting a virtual reality headset, you'll definitely want to check out this deal! Right now, you can get the Meta Quest 2 128 GB Headset for $349.96 and the headset will come with a $75.00 gift card! Regular price of the headset alone is $494.96, so you're saving $145.00 plus getting a free gift card! Don't forget to purchase the "Holiday Bundle" option, as that is the one that comes with the gift card. The deal is available at several retailers:

There are a couple other offers that are a bit less compelling:

The Meta Quest 2 is self-contained, so once it's connected to Wi-Fi, it doesn't need to be connected to a PC or console in order to game. While the Meta Quest 3 is probably considered the best standalone VR unit, this slightly older model is $300.00 cheaper (excluding any bonus gift cards) and it's certainly our recommendation for a family-friendly, beginner VR headset.

This offer is good while supplies last.

Amazon thought ahead of you ;p
When ordering this bundle, you're charged $275+tax for the Quest2, and $75 for the gift card. So... yes you can return the Meta Quest2, and keep your $75 gift card, which you paid exactly $75.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Why are there people asking to return and keep the gift card. Like come on...

    • The only reason I'd like to buy into VR is for Gran Turismo 7 (heard it's fantastic in VR with a wheel) and Half Life Alyx. Sadly, it seems like I would need 2 different headsets to do that. The day Sony announce full PC compatibility, I'll go for PSVR2.
I have both PSVR2 and PCVR.

GT7 is cool for like a few hours but unless you are REALLY into racing, its not really worth the investment.

    • Just a heads up to folks. The US version of this deal has been sold out since yesterday, and the Canada site version has now shifted from “In stock” to “Available to ship in 1-2 days”, which usually means stock is starting to get stretched thin.

Not trying to panic anyone, because there are still other deals like the Best Buy gift card and the Meta store credit, but if you want the Amazon gift card specifically then you may want to act sooner rather than later. Also note that if you want Supernatural, the SupernaturalVr website/shop has a slightly higher value deal because they are offering an Elite strap and half off a year of Supernatural.

I personally went with Amazon because I could get a third party strap for cheaper and then get Supernatural as needed.

I bought this one just on its reviews and price. Will test soon lol.

Syntech Link Cable 20 FT Compatible with Meta/Oculus Quest 3/Quest2/Pro/Pico4 Accessories and PC/Steam VR, High Speed PC Data Transfer, USB 3.0 to USB C Cable for VR Headset and Gaming PC https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09WMG544P?ref ... uage=en-CA

I bought 20ft because I need 20 ft. Check with a tape measure what you need on the floor and add 6 ft up to your face. Cheaper if you're closer to your "space".

    • I finally bought one after years of hesitancy due to the price being too high or that you needed to sign into Facebook to use it initially.

This is a decent price point to be able to dabble in the world of VR as someone who has never tried this technology. The Amazon gift card is also a nice bonus!

Can someone recommend a decent aftermarket head strap for better comfort?

No it doesn't come with games. The official way to buy games is via Meta App Store just like how you purchase apps on the Apple/Google App Store on phones and tablets.

    • I have quest 1 and quest 3. Assuming the sweet spot of Quest 2 is like that of quest 1, it is almost an entirely different experience because I don't have to adjust my headset every few minutes when playing table tennis.... If you plan to use it everyday, Quest 3 is worth the price.
Think you're 100% right, past two days I was thinking it was something wrong with my eyes maybe until I found this video of comparing the Quest 2 vs Quest 3 vs Pro. It's like a night and day difference and has convinced me to return the Quest 2 get the Quest 3.

Once you get the 2nd bundle cash out the $75 gift card into your amazon account then return the 1st bundle. Would they take the $75 out of your account or how would they handle this?

    • Got mine today. Put it on charge for a few hours. Oddly I saw a boot menu at startup. No big deal I thought ... I'm stuck on the O logo. Any one else have crap first experience? Maybe I got a dud :(

Tried factory reset but the O logo persists. Hmm :(
Found some info, hold the power and volume (-) until you get the options screen, and choose boot instead of power off or factory reset. If that doesn't work you should get it replaced.

    • Similar to what some other posters said earlier who have experience with VR. I just received the headset yesterday and while the experience overall is decent, some turnoffs I have are:

      - The "sweet spot" is very small, I have to turn my head to see around rather than moving my eyes for some slight movements because glancing off to the side all I see is blurry.

      - I wear big plastic glasses. While they are 2mm smaller than the maximum size of the headset, it is a tight fit squeezing them in.

      - Processing power and graphic fidelity for the in-heasset experience is lacking. Even the main home room feels like I'm in an N64 game, and some experiences the textures are so low resolution. I'll try PCVR once I find a long enough usb cable that goes on sale.

      - Might be a defect, but when I turn my head to the right, I hear the fan making an annoying buzzing noise. Drives me nuts when it's quiet and kills the immersion.

Having that said, I think I might return it and wait until the Quest 3 comes down in price....the sweet spot issue really kills the immersion and I know no amount of gaming PC will fix that.

added to cart and its showing same shipping cost even when selecting free shipping on non prime account. not sure if this is error on amazon end.
probably a good idea to contact amazon to see if they can correct that.

i would say yes if you like that kind of stuff,
brink is also a good one for photo realistic locations you can visit and real vr fishing.
there was also another app but i can't remember what its called off the top of my head.

I'd say so - plus you can always dabble with some slower paced games if you want.

      Plus, adult VR videos.

    • Thanks! Just pulled the trigger. I own a Rift from many years ago and spent about USD 250 on games (split between the gear vr and rift). The wires on the rift were too annoying and I gave my phone away for gear vr (really missed it). I was waiting for quest 3 to come out but the price is too rich for for me on something that can be a paperweight.

How does software purchases work? now? Are my quest 2 purchases going to work on future quests?

Also, I prefer privacy in using my device. Anything I should regarding meta account? Is it going to share all the sites I visit ? :D

    • Official Resident Evil VR ports are all PlayStation exclusive. Also for anyone still deciding I returned the Quest 2 to get a Quest 3 and I'd say this is definitely much more on par with the PSVR 2 overall. It's clear, lightweight and text is easy to read without any eye strain. The slightly better FOV gets it just over the hill where it doesn't stick out in game anymore. AR passthrough however is extremely grainy and I don't think I'd ever use it. Is it worth over twice the price of the Quest 2? For gaming, not really. Their catalogue isn't good enough to justify $650. The one thing it does that the Quest 2 couldn't is offer a movie/tv/youtube watching experience that's actually worth using.

Conclusion: Most people would be better off getting a Quest 2 and using Amazon's $75 giftcard to buy accessories that improve its ergonomics. If you've never used VR before it's a no brainer.
RE4 is legit on quest 2

    • I decided to grab this quick from Amazon, $311.72 + $75, tax included. Anecdotal, but I noted the Quest 2 was sold out at Walmart when I was there yesterday, so not sure if this might sell out faster than people expect. Would have preferred Best Buy if you could get a $75 GC in store with purchase but that's their loss for not giving that option.
The website states if you buy in-store they give you the $75 gift-card at checkout.

    • Pulled the trigger. If the price falls further on BF I might return but this is really a great price. Gonna be my first VR experience, so stocked.

Edit: so the price is actually $275.11 plus a forced purchase of Amazon.ca gift card for $75. That's really great as you save $10 from HST.
