This $20 off actually was available a couple of weeks ago if not last month first on the PS store . And it will undoubtedly be be available once sony releases their Black Friday 2020 Ps Store promo

Edit : Forgot to mention , no tax for me when I buy my games digitally , been doing this since PS4 and I have yet to use my PS4's disk drive once , got myself a digital PS5 and would have gone the same route even if they were priced the same😉

Do you have to do anything special for no tax on digital games? Or is it no tax on all PS store games?

Yes you do , I haven't tried on ps5 yet , but on ps4 I would change my postal code to a random Alberta one under profile settings , and pay using paypal exclusively , if you pay using CC directly it does not work , enjoy !

    • For PS5 users like me, Ghosts of Tsushima is backwards compatible and will get a "Game Boost" allowing the game to reach 60 FPS. Weirdly enough, Sony's other major first party 2020 release The Last of Us Part 2 didn't get the same Game Boost (but is still playable with minor enhancements such as dual sense feedback). Hopefully, TLOU2 will eventually get the Game Boost as well.

    • Thanks. Had an alert for this for a while. Going to play this on my PS5 once I beat Demon Souls & Miles Morales!

I'm still a bit confused about this, how do we know whether games get a boost or not? Is the boost current? or coming in the future? Thanks

you dont, it's title per title. Up to the developers. But if they have uncapped framerate, expect it to perform at 60 fps. Dynamic resolution, expect it to hit 4k for most of the game.

Killzone Shadow Fall a ps4 launch title, hovered around 32fps. It's always been uncapped, so on ps5 it hits 60fps no problem. Great looking game considering launch title.

    • Have the game on ps5(i bought it for 70$ last week argh)

It runs very smooth and never experienced any lag. Beautiful game.

Edit: forgot to mention on ps5 there is barely any load times. maybe 5 seconds between screens .
Doesn't take long for the game to start too. Loving it so far.

For many games the boost is automatic and doesn't require anything on your end. Ghost of Tsushima has "framerate or resolution" options in game but those are PS4 pro only. I think on ps5, you get both framerate and resolution bumps.

      Buttery smooth gorgeous game.

What is the combat like in this game? Compared to say God of War?

The combat reminds me most of Assassin's Creed Origins/Odyssey. You have your two main square/triangle attack buttons and can unlock some neat combos. You have a few 'stances' that you switch between mid-fight to be more effective against certain enemy types (shielded vs. brute vs. double sword). You have some throwables like knives & bombs along with your trusted bow. Fairly in-depth once you've put in 10 hours or so.

I will say GoW's combat is another level of fluid but this holds up well because you can choose your play style (stealth vs. swords blazing).

    • Definitely going to hold out for PS Store BF I have to imagine this is going to be this price or close enough too that with the no tax difference I'd rather get digital.
