    • Several reasons for it actually lol
      1. Getting lunch and dinner with friends in Toronto for the 19.5 hours that I’m there before heading back to Vancouver
      2. First time ever taking an inaugural flight. I want free cake before my flight lol
      3. Porter apparently has (hopefully working) free full-speed wifi on their E2 flights, and I work remotely so I plan on making full use of the wifi to make it my office in the skies (and make flying on weekdays work for me)
      4. I need to take Porter’s NY flight later in the year, and this inaugural flight comes with $150 flight credit which basically covers the cost of this latter flight for me (even when accounting for my Flair self-connection flight)
Sounds like a whirlwind two days if you're also working!

And now that you mention it again, being able to look back and say you were once on an inaugural flight sounds awesome...I missed this deal, but hopefully I can take some trips myself this year.

Do keep us posted on how it went!

    • Stumbled across this thread and your itinerary/post has me wondering...are you just staying at the various airports for two days? 😂

As much as I love everything about airports, this would exhaust me.

Nevertheless, best wishes on your travels. I would love to hear how it went!

where? when do they do this? all the busses say $50+ for me
They very much often so have promos book nicely ahead even gone for like $2.50 round trip to Montreal twice the $1 sale … but you can find $10-15 one way a 5-7 weeks out no problem usually

I find that expensive actually for that route can find mega bus for like $5 a month prior usually or just drive there not exactly far… inter provincial routes more fiscally sensible

    • Can’t speak for Porter but for air Canada the 24 hour cancellation policy the refund is immediate, including aeroplan points + taxes.

There might be a temp hold on your card but it won’t invoice.

Note this is only the 24 hour policy not cancellation due to weather / no more flight / COVID rules

Note that there is no law in Canada forcing a 24 hour cancellation policy like there is in the USA, though those that are flying into the land of the free must comply.
I hope this is true! Don't need $2500 in credits to use for the rest of the year

    • I'm just about to cancel two seats on the inaugural flight departing Edmonton for Toronto YYZ on Valentine's Day, Feb 14 (and returning to Edmonton Feb 17 at a slightly higher price).

If you are quick, you may be able to snatch those seats shortly. I paid a total of $269.xx retrun for 2 passengers (i.e. .$130 per person).

      Good luck!

    • Look at it this way, when you are buying a new ticket in a few months, that refund credit will look like free money.

I have a lot of AC credits, even though it is my own money, it seems as if it's free.
Glad you see the bright side of things..... I look at the lost opportunity costs of having a credit balance on my CC until I use it up. Wouldn't have been so bad if interest rates weren't so high now...
    • Lucky you! Sadly still waiting... Probably end up paying the balance while waiting for refund to be put thou...😓

    • Sitting in YYC, it's wonderful that we have so much competition coming here. I wonder why all the startups are coming to my humble city.

      We now have:

      Air Canada
      Westjet
      Air Transat
      Lynx
      Flair
      Porter

This can't be sustainable... I wonder who will win.
Calgary Airport fees are lower than elsewhere, so they've become the Prairie hub.

They also just expanded the airport. It's massive for a city of 1 million. They have space to do it.

Note: Porter isn't really a startup. They're well known out east, where they've been in operation since 2006.

    • It's basically hit or miss. I think a notch above flair though.
There are big differences between Flair and Porter. Notably, Porter is a full service airline while Flair is a discount airline.

The customer service at Porter is way beyond Flair.

Porter's also been in operation for 17 years. They've proven themselves, which is fueling their growth.

    • How many people here are on the inaugural PD 354 from Calgary to Toronto? Booked on a whim but want to try out Porter and hard to resist at this price especially with the $150 voucher.

I guess for people that like spending time on planes, if you were coming in Feb 22nd from Toronto on PD 351 and booked PD 354 on the way back, you would technically get $300 in vouchers and be back in Toronto the same day.
Love spending time on a plane. Jealous of those based in YYZ that could possibly take advantage of these. I'd be booked on multiple inaugurals if the occasion arose, and you'd be "Paid" to do it!

In for the YVR-YYZ inaugural. RFD party?

Brave individual! I'd never consider a 2 hour self connection, nevermind in winter with the risk of deicing. No comp is even due for a < 3 hour delay, even if it's controllable.

Flying from halifax back to Toronto is not as bad. 7AM flight, but there's bus that starts at 4:20 AM and 5:20 AM to get to the airport in time.

Family of 4, Feb 17 to 26 to Halifax so got the $1 flights only on the return. After 2 checked bags and seat selection the total was 1200, about half of what we usually pay on aircanada.

If I am able to use the code to book the $1 Inaugural Flight with the posted flight number and date, am I guarantee to get that $150 voucher? or it's only for the first 50 people, for which I have no clue if I will get that voucher or not??
You have to be on the inaugural (very first) flight for the given leg to get the gift card. The dates and flight numbers are listed in the first column here:
