A little concerned about the reports of banding or "dirty screen" effect that some of the earlier panels display. Here is a vid that helps determine if yours has it:

If upscaling isn't an issue for you then just go with Vizio 2019 edition in a few months, provided no major issues is discovered. Around same price.
I'm still waiting to see a TCL 6 series live in a store so I can compare closely, but the panel lottery is definitely a concern. Taking back a 65 inch television is a huge pain
I am really happy with the NU8000 so far . Game Mode is great
The samsung nu8000 also has some solid gaming features that I don’t see around - 120hz native and freesync support, which is now apparently good to go with nvidia cards
The FALD was also seeming like an important reason to go TCL but rtings rates their contrast abilities very closely
"There are some artifacts visible with 4k content due to the sub-pixel dimming. This performs similarly to the P607 (see here), but shouldn't be an issue for most people and is mostly noticeable when used as a PC monitor.
This type of dithering is uncommon, and is only seen on some TCL TVs, including the S517 and R617. Most people won't notice it much, but occasionally it causes artifacts when it interferes with spatial dithering in games such as this green or purple shadow. (Note: the images are from the S517, but we expect them to be the same on the 6 Series.)"
Keep in mind, Vizio will come out with the wide gaumet panels which should result in great colors for the M series in spring.
Also, what about DLP TVs? My parents are still using the Samsung DLP I bought 15 years ago in their basement, and it still looks great for broadcast TV and movies.
One would think they wouldn't as they run hotter... but must be the technology. The LED LG that died on my as best I can tell was a single LED backlight, and the labour involved in peeling it down layer by layer to fix it, wasn't worth the time or money.
T series passed Pewdiepie recently then......
The 9 years old army pulled an April fools joke on them.
the 4 series is great value, but i tend to keep my TVs for 10+ years so i might as well get the one with all the bells and whistles (Dolby Vision)
Does Amazon. Ca sell extended warranty on TV?
If so, how is the warranty compared to the one offered by Costco? - The cost and the service-
Where can one buy a 65R617 (not the Bestbuy model) with good extended warranty in Canada at this time?
Thank you all RFDers.

I went to bestbuy to compare the series 4 and this series 6, they were side by side and I honestly could not tell the difference from their nature demos they were showing. I'm only gonna use the tv for using free streams of sports/nba, watching torrented movies and for watching netflix, maybe playing ps4 if I get one.
I do wonder if I should just get the series 4 and save over $200? Or should I spend closer to $1000 to get something that looks significantly better (again from instore demos, I don't even think their screens have been calibrated properly).
I love my M55, but have been reading about TCL for a couple of years when I was researching the Vizio... if Costco ends up carrying them, it may be my next TV. Don't care for the ROKU Smart TV part of it, never been a fan of Roku, but I guess it's better than non smart.
