    • I don't think that these deals are anything special. I have been on this plan for a while now and have everything and more for the same price.

    • Nothing new here... already got the same plan.

I guess for people that missed out on the $60/10GB you can now get on board.

    • Not great, but better than the Rogers Infinite Plan.

    • Hey great news! We know we used to punch you in the stomach, but now we have a special offer where you can get slapped in the face!

    • today you pay $120 for 15gb
      tomorrow you pay $75

it's a step in the right direction.

i wonder how the sub-brands will respond. hopefully it starts a war on pricing.

    • If you're already on a subsidized EPP plan it's not worth breaking your contract over. It'll be interesting to see what's in the pipeline for Fido/Virgin/Koodo in the coming weeks.

My plan and your plan are exactly the same with the same extra features of unlimited international text and visual vmail...BUT it is slightly different as we pay $5.00 less @ $70.00 vs $75.00 😁

It's not a step in the right direction, it's competition theater.

Nothing short of forcing networks to allow third party MVNOs, like incumbents are already forced to do with residential Internet, will improve anything.

    • TELUS greed would not allow unlimited data even at snail speeds.

Indeed although if Telus was blindsided by this plan they might not have the technical ability to offer a throttled plan straight away.

    • If this is just a promo? Not really that exciting. As mentioned already, people are getting similar plans (and cheaper) via other promos. Hell, I'm paying $55 for 16gb with Koodo right now.

But if $75 becomes the benchmark regular price for 15gb of data for in-market plans in provinces outside of QC/SK/MB? That's definitely a step in the right direction. Still shitty because it's BYOD only, but it's better than $115-20.

And 15gb hard-capped is still better than 10gb + "unlimited" 256kbps data, IMO.

    • Since Bell matched Rogers, I imagine TELUS will do the same shortly otherwise they will lose the marketing war.
Like the $60 / 10GB plan from 2 years ago when 1 carrier comes out with something the other 2 ALWAYS match.

Give them a week or so, my guess is they’re playing a game of chicken with Rogers/Bell. But as soon as there’s an out flowing I’d imagine they’ll match the other’s price model. Best thing to do is call TELUS and threaten to leave.

    • As $75/month for 15GB, they want us to say "WOW, so cheap!" What a joke!

Telus offers top-up options of $15 for 500MB, $22 for 1GB or $32 for 2GB of shareable data
This is straight up robbery! However like OP says things are definitely going to the right direction.

Even if TELUS matches the other two, don't forget those greedy bastards increased the $60 10 GB plan price by $10 compared to $5. Don't take the same bait again. They need to lose customers to learn a lesson.

      Bell: $75 10 GB + unlimited slow non-shareable OR $75 15 GB non-shareable
Rogers: $75 10 GB + unlimited slow shareable
      TELUS: $75 10 GB + 5 GB for 24 months non-shareable

    • The 5GB expiring after 24 mos killed this deal for me so went with Bell $75/15GB from Rogers $65/10GB.

Lose customers to *whom*, exactly? For an awful lot of people, Freedom still isn't a viable option. So they're stuck with one of the big three no matter what (at least, outside of QC and SK).

    • just to add to the greed, if you sign-up for the plan online there is no connection fee ($35) but if you do it at the store or on the phone the fee applies. One thing to note is that there is no contract with the BYOD plan.
