    • Any feedback on Fido internet? I get the fact that it's on Rogers, just wondering how the provisioning is. I was a LT Rogers user, nothing but issues so I am with Virgin now. That said, by kid keeps asking for Rogers (cuz cable is supposed to be faster?). I'm paying $60 for 50/10 unlimited and I'm wonder if Fido might be a little better, or just the same as Rogers.

    • Is this pricing still only available to Fido wireless customers? I seem to remember that there was an extra charge for people who don't already have wireless service with Fido.

For me anything on cable internet I get random disconnects. I've had Fido before and now with ebox. I'm looking to get back on dsl (virgin mobile) since never had issues with dsl.

    • Does anyone know if you can switch from this $65 plan to a lower priced plan (i.e. $50/month) after the credit without penalty?

EDIT: chatted with rep and yes you can switch to lower priced plan after 3 months free.

    • Thanks OP. Signed Up. Cancelled the virgin promo and chose this one instead. Much better deal. What’s up with Rogers cable alternatives providing these awesome promos?

I’m on the 60/10 unlimited for $60 from when they had the promo just over a year ago. It’s been solid since.

Had Fido 60/10 service last Jan-Apr 2017. It was exactly like Rogers, even speed boost. Often had up to 75Mbps on the 60 service. Connection and speed was just as consistent and stable as Rogers whom I had prior to Fido.

    • I signed up for Fido a month ago in mid January when they were "only" giving out 2 months for free. I'm also on the $65/month 75/10 plan and I consistently get over 90 Mbps.

I am considering checking out Carrytel's RFD deal while I'm getting free Fido service to compare the two. I'll cancel Fido if Carrytel's service is just as consistent, as I'll be getting Carrytel on Roger's cable infrastructure.

    • I switched to carry Tel from fido and am busting a move to get back to Fido. I'd say don't waste your time but a few have had decent experiences. You may be the lucky one.

+2 - same with me, I think I've had Fido Internet since the 2016 Black Friday promo? 3 months free, $60 for 60/10 - unlimited GB - includes modem rental - speeds vary but can go up to 80ish for me with speedboost. Not a Fido wireless customer (that isn't a requirement)....

I was on start.ca but the unlimited monthly GBs and $60 with modem rental and the 3 months free was too tempting - been rock solid ever since! The deal was so good that I signed up my in-laws on it as well (also moved from start.ca)

You tried to get back to Fido, how's carrytel? Have you switch back yet?

    • My only advice for anyone going to use Fido, assuming they're still using the same wifi-modem, is to put it into bridge-mode (modem only) and use your own wifi-router. Also, find that you have to reboot the modem once in awhile as it seems to crash.

I remember there is a special "experimental" firmware (that is at least 18 months old...) that you can request if the modem lock sup and freezes your internet. It's here IIRC: http://forums.fido.ca/t5/forums/forumto ... ead-id/884
It fixes the modem freezing when it's in bridge mode.

All in all, Fido was a nightmare to deal with for me and I'm glad I'm not with them anymore, but if it's the cheapest option for you then it makes sense.

That's interesting you say that since I am currently on Virgin 25/10 paying $50/month and saw Carry Telecom's offer for 75/10 for $34.99 which looked enticing. Who are they using? Rogers?
