    • I don't think Montreal has a good enough economy or fanbase to warrant having an MLB team there.
What has changed over the years to allow Montreal to become a city that can sustain an MLB team?

The Tampa Bay Rays play in a remote location that is not actually located in Tampa Bay, so you can see why that team does not generate as much revenue as expected for their owners.

My point was to have a few home matches or a series from each of the three teams in the Frontier League to be played in Montreal. Those matches mean less ten matches in the whole season. The point is to see the Montreal's interest in baseball right now.

    • Not sure but not quite the same as an MLB team

    • How about the Frontier League, the Atlantic League, or the American Association? The AA has Winnipeg Goldeyes. The FL has three Canadian teams in Ottawa, Quebec City and Trois-Rivières.

    • Doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon, the split city proposal is all but gone and there's a proposal in place to redevelop Tropicana Field - for the Rays.

    • So Jays DFA'd Gage who is one of the few lefty options in the bullpen for a guy who "might" pitch down the stretch run?

I guess they are counting on Kikuchi in the BP w/ Mayza? Jays need to sign Chafin/Britton/Smith...

      Thanks Mixed those folk up
I personally never thought the split city would ever get approved.
Its still puzzling is St. Pete getting good tax money from this? Its literally a 30 minute drive from DT Tampa....Guess TB being TB

    • That Yankees bullpen last season was money until they got hit with injuries - it was the best in baseball.

    • Yup. He won't be available until late in the year at best. I would be surprised if we see him before September.
      Sooner would be better.
But making it just in time for our BP to be gassed is the second best option.

    • Finally we signed another fireballer!

Andrew Chaffin is still available...similar thing to what Braves did with Kirby Yates (ugh that was a terrible signing) and Ken Giles with Seattle

Someone's comment on MLB Trade Rumours..

"I hope he [ chad green ] pitches against the Astros. One year he faced the Astros twice, once in NY and once at MMP. Altuve hit game-winning home runs on BOTH occasions."
We're those the cheating years or after the buzzers were discovered?

    • no disrespect to Scott Rolen, but how is Andruw Jones not in the HOF yet. best CF of his generation. really makes it tough to take this seriously, which is i guess the point.
      Wait, he's not yet? Wth.

They essentially had same careers I would say. One of the top guys at their positions in their generation and literally played during the same timeframe and for the same length of time.

Congrats Scotty Rolen! I still remember the trade that sent Troy Glaus out... but likely he'll pick the Cardinals to be in the HoF

    • Well thats no good. Leave it the same, dammit
Have you looked at the renovations yet? Lol…. There is no way to ‘leave it the same’….

In the pictures, it looks like there are numerous heights changes / differences… the height appears sloped in places! If it turns out to only be 2 heights that would be a bit… simpler. However, the pics show CF has a lower wall, there are sloped walls, etc…. The highest walls are where the new elevated bullpens are, but the pics certainly don’t make the rest look uniform.

With the raised bullpens they can't keep them at 10' anymore.

    • More moves by Alex Anthopoulos taking care of his players, the Atlanta Braves signed Kevin Pillar to a minor league deal and $3 Million if he gets called up to the Major League club at any point.

The Blue Jays' outfield are vulnerable to left handed pitching now because Varsho is one of the MLB's worst hitters against left-handers (66 wRC+, while the MLB league average is 100 wRC+).
Kiermaier and Biggio are also bad against left handed pitching.

3 ft when Jays at bat.
