It should say something like "Refund will be in Amazon Gift Card". Once they receive the item, the total will be credited to your business account.
In my experience, the refund can take many days to show up. As far as I can tell, gift returns are not eligible for instant refund so it must be processed by Amazon fulfillment center in Ontario. I live in Richmond, BC and the transit alone is a week, compare to normal returns are processed in their fulfillment center in Richmond. I hope they can credit my account by Aug 14 deadline.
In the US, you can do this instantly with gifting digital goods (like ebooks), and the recipient can redeem the goods as Amazon balance. In Canada, digital goods cannot be gifted.
However, you can't stack them on the same order.
Still if you read the Amex ad, it clearly said, for your first admissible purchase of $250 or more, so if your first purchase is more than $150 and less than $250... we should be able to use both...
Also bought an apple Smart Cover for $40 (originally $65)
Then a few other fillers to break $500
I guess you got lucky.
I asked support, and they said you can add any AmEx card that can be linked to amazon via the AmEx app/site to pay, as long as the charge is over $250 you are eligible for the $100 off, as well as the $20 statement credit.

I talked to the live support as AMEX2022 doesn't work for me but ABJULY22 does, they said they will help me add the AMEX2022 code, but must be one code per order and can't stack. That's a great deal, I enrolled my amex card to be eligible for $20 more
Added Amex Business card to Amazon account.
Used Amex Business card to purchase $100 gift card for $20 statement credit.
Placed order with ABJULY22 code - didn't use Amex card.
Tried to see if AMEX2022 code worked - it did.
Placed another order without Amex card again.
Really!! What link did you sign up under? Did you have to add an amex business card?
For my second order purchased a sous vide cooker and fillers for $250

May be issue with my account that, it was activated on 1st Aug which is outside of promo window so code is not working for many products. Rep agreed to apply discount once product is shipping but it cannot be Apple ,Bose . I anyways ordered series 7 , will try again to see if i can get refund for $200 if not then will return watch.
