    • I still have 3/7 on the cup counter for 7-eleven. What's weird is that I used to receive a promo email every week before March and I get no email anymore even though I still opted in to receive emails .
I haven't received any emails from them, either. If I didn't open the app to see what they have to offer that day, I wouldn't have known.

    • My store just gave me 2 donuts lol. Still waiting on customer service because I had more than 70 points and it used my points instead of coffee day reward.

After I put in my order it said my store is closed. WTF? i tried again and it was greyed out. restarting app didn't work. I was a few steps to the store so explained to supervisor and she wasn't even aware there was this promo and almost got me to use my points for the coffee. WTF? She didn't honour the free coffee in store. I launched a complaint through their app. Maybe something will come out of it. last time i complained that they used my points for a free coffee instead of a free offer that I got and they reimbursed me the points.

Yep, it's one of choices of the hot chocolate machine. I guess your points won't expire, but your 7th cup will, after a few months of inactivity. They're 2 different things.

      @IDStorms
No, I don't want a physical card. So will I continue to earn points with my virtual card after the date in the email about whatever the change? I actually forgot to ask get a physical card today, I go there only when there's a promo like today.

Their website/app, what a pita. I was already at Tim's, the location I was already there was greyed out on their website, so I opened the app. It tells me that I needed to update. Once it was fired up, it was slow as molasses. My location was greyed out again, but somehow I was able to choose my location. Some Tim bits were sold out. If my email didn't say this was an app only offer, I'd just ordered at the counter. When I went to pick up my order, I was told the Tim bits that I chose were sold out, but they had other kinds shown in the app as sold out!

      I'll stick with Starbucks....

    • I don't think I've ever picked up a physical card. I think I started using the virtual card, because I bought a half off virtual GC off Groupon. So I guess I need to go pick up a physical card from a store?
If you never use a physical card, you don't need one, but if you have/want a physical card that you wanted to use, then in order to receive points, you need to have it registered in the app.

      https://financialpost.com/technology/ti ... imate-data

This was back in June and nothing has changed. Always wise to read about apps before putting on your phone.
I disabled background data access for all apps. You should see a location icon if some app is using your location. Also set the location to "allowed only while in use" if you can.
On 7th and 11th days, right? Just like McDonald's app, free coffees also count towards free 7th cup, so I had quite a few free drinks, but apparently they've all expired after 3mo since I stopped going there in spring.

I just had their new (to me) London fog, it was the worst I've ever had there. It was good that I had a little bit to taste before I filled up, or it could've gone to drain.
7-11 has london fog? Last went there in March to redeem my free beverage reward. I still have 4k points left and they are still there.

Can you redeem it twice from same cell phone/apps ? ie: Breakfast and Lunch?

Starbucks giving out a free bakery item for NEXT visit with a handcrafted bev grande or larger, which I find cold.

And McDonald's? I've received their message about the Coffee Day, but there was no special offer. The worst of all.
7-11 used to be very generous with free coffees. Went there frequently on my way to work before.
Starbucks offer is not even a BOGO.
McD had free coffee last year, and still has $1 coffee at most locations if you ordered dollar coffee previously or added it to your favorites.

krispy kreme has free coffee too, but a bit too far for me just like 7-11.

I find it weird Tim Hortons did not limit this to 1 per person.

    • rip, ended up using 70 points instead. How can I contact them?
This happened to me in two prior promos. In app, find contact us and send message saying the system charged points instead of getting free coffee. Tim Hortons responded within 2 days with credit 100pts for inconvenience.

    • Can I buy $5 TH gift card and load it to the apps? Because Ampli has $5 promotion spend $5 on TH and get back $5. Anyone try it? Thanks.
If you are talking about plastic TH gift card, it will count towards Ampli but TH app won't accept g.c.. I did it and even replaced it by another gift card from the timmies with a different account but no go. Not a big deal for me since I am a coffee lover and winter is coming but it sure would be nice to be able to add to the app and claim free coffee today. I think you could try adding $5 to TH app directly but I don't know if ampli counts that or not.

DragonRider, I think if HappyValley1 already claimed the deal before it was locked, it should still work. I already got $5 credit in ampli but it is still showing in my account. But it is just my thought and I am not an expert :)

    • The new Tim app is super unintuitive. I was initially confused about mobile order and how my items were coming up at full price when I clearly added the promo (or allegedly that it would automatically take effect). Nothing worked and I was having a WTF moment wondering what's going wrong and was it all just a tease. Turns out you can only take advantage of one promo/coupon per order and you cannot stack coupons or offers. If you want to take advantage of another offer, make a new order. What a joke and an unintuitive mess that is the app.

Payment in-store with the app is also this super awkward dance where do I scan my Tim Rewards first or my Tim Card first? And they also removed the offer to buy a box of 10 TImbits for $1 by completing their survey. I am still of the view that Tim's loyalty program is a joke in terms of its execution and customer friendliness. I found McDonald's and Starbucks to be best since I know where I stand for my loyalty progress and what promos are available and applied.

    • i'm not a regular tims customer... but have taken a look at their app...

not a fan of having to load money on to a tims card (minimum $5) in order to pay for a purchase using the app.
ie - can't just pay with a credit card for any denomination.
'cuz i really don't need $4.50 stuck on a tims card, after i've spent 50c for a free coffee...
but i guess that's tims business savy.

otherwise that is a good offer for coffee day. thanks OP.
Jesus Christ man, just buy some donuts or a chili, even if you despise Tim Hortons, food is food. Free coffee worth about $2.30 with tax if u get extra large.. buy 2 timbits to get it, return after 30 minutes, get another 2 timbits and a free coffee again. Yes it's usable over and over all day today but you need to wait 30 minutes minimum. Not telling ya to wait 30 mins, just go later in the day to get another. Or get a friend to log on your app and they go get a free coffee, that $5 in Tim's credit means a lot to ya, so figure this should help ease the $5 purchase

Link your card on the app or online by October 27th to continue to collect and use your Points! As of October 28th, unlinked cards can only collect Qualified Points that can only be used once the card is linked.

    • Yes - it doesn't like my AMEX but takes my MasterCard. Don't think it's the card type as much as it's their overzealous system blocking the card or something. Do you have another card you could try?

The app isn't actually terrible, I have more issues with the McDonald's app than this one and the offers / points can be pretty good depending on the promo with Tim's. Pity the coffee is so inconsistent and more often than not, terrible.

Even the Starbucks app has its issues, and until last week, also had to be topped up with a minimum of $10 through the app. So I guess all of the people complaining about topping up $5 never used that one.
The app allowed my card 2 weeks ago, been declining 3 different cards of mine since then...

    • Within the app, is there a way to load my account (and subsequently pay) using an existing physical gift card?

It seems I can only load a new Tim Card on the app by paying $5 from a CC.

EDIT: Figured it out. Needed to first load $5 onto a new e-Tim Card via a CC first before I can transfer funds from other Tim Cards.

    • There's no easy way to find your current balance. And in the end, my CC was never charged (I guess that's a good thing?)
In the app, tap "Scan" at the bottom (icon is a pseudo-QR code), then tap "Tim Card" at the top. Balance is stored in a virtual reloadable Tim card.

For reloads, I've always found it easiest to just use ApplePay on an iOS device.

Just because the app is less terrible than the others, doesn't make it not terrible.

It's terrible because I spent 15 minutes trying to load funds onto the app. There's no easy way to find your current balance. And in the end, my CC was never charged (I guess that's a good thing?)

No, it appears to be once per phone/app/account. I redeemed mine, and can't put through a second order to get free coffee (showing up with no discount). EDIT: It looks like you can, but have to wait ~30+ minutes between each order.
Are single Timbits $0.50 yet or
      Here (in Alberta), they're $0.29/ea.

In my test order, I had 1 Timbit at $0.29, and the coffee showed up as $2.19 with no discount. As soon as I bumped it to 2 Timbits ($0.58), the coffee was fully rebated (-$2.19):

Folks who do use the loyalty/reward card, be sure to turn off your reward (set "Bank my rewards" at checkout), or you may accidentally use your points instead of getting the actual freebie.

I can't check out, whenever I press the check out button it just returns me to the home screen. I tried to sign out and back in and now I cant even sign in anymore. I've ordered many times before so I think this is an issue on their side. Fail.

Update: Web ordering still seems to work for me.

Update 2: it wont let me do the free coffee stacked with one of my offers so now I have to make two separate orders.
I had the same problems, but all it took was closing the app, then starting over.

As per the coffee price issue, I simply deleted the coffee, and asked for it once I was at the drive through window. :)

In my case I'm pretty sure it was because I ordered another deal from the app, and this promo says it cannot not be used with any other offer.
