    • Feel pretty good about myself... first time I never even cracked open the physical coupon folder.

Down 15 lbs since mid December, other than maybe 1 McMuffin, don't think there's much else I'm willing to eat there anymore after cleaning up my diet. Basically everything is on white bread and sides are fries, all the deep fried/carbs I'm not eating anymore.

When they put stuff on a spinach wrap for me, then maybe I can use a coupon

Looks like the prices are way up on the App anyway, another reason NOT to go.
Congrats! And when you have a cheat meal/day you deserve way better than Mcd's!

    • Remember when they had real coupons (paper or website / email codes)
Now the "deals" require you to install an app which tracks you illegally and uses insane amounts of data
Just keeps sliding downhill with shady practises and yet people keep supporting them
I'm happy to use the app since it's faster and more accurate to order. But yeah these coupons arent a good value.

    • Had the small cappuccino and the cup seems really small. Maybe it’s just the shape, as it’s more tall and skinny than what I remember a small being. I never checked the ounces on the cup.
I was getting the $2 medium cappuccino they had going not too long ago, and the medium size cup seemed substantially larger compared to the small.
This is pretty easy to find out since McD posts the cup sizes on their site. Small hot cup is 285ml. Medium is 420ml. If anyone has historical knowledge they could compare.

McD still sends out coupons in the mail. They came last week.

I think 6 nuggets, big macs were $2? Or might've been those specials they had running often. Still, best value was the dollar menu or whatever.

Then again, back then there was plenty of choices for very cheap fast food. Arby's 5 for $5, Taco Bell value menu, and both with pop refills lol.

Just need to scan your 4 digit code after scanning the coupon to get the reward points.

    • McDonalds used to have a webpage on their site with a dropdown to select your province where it would have a barcode for the current mailer coupons...

A search of google no longer brings anything up.

Is this site gone? It was so convenient.

I don't want to use the sh*tty app and the app doesn't even seem to show the coupons, there's a link to view coupons then the offers section says no offers available, what a POS.
Anyone else have trouble with the coupons not showing in the app finding that I can't get them to show up in my app even if I log out and sign back in. I know at least the one day the coupons didn't show up until I was almost in the parking lot, so I don't know if it's a location-based thing or what

I have used some info on this thread to update a Google spreadsheet with barcodes for easy access and scanning.

The link is also posted on the first page on this thread under the Thread Summary.

Let me know should there be any issues or corrections to be made.

      Thanks.

Agreed, Vietnam already has a ton of affordable street food that is ready fast, & tastes way better. People in Vietnam that do eat McDonald's eat it for the novelty factor, Americana, etc, but that doesn't last

    • In HK yes but in Vietnam, McDonalds failed. Its considered overpriced, catered to middle/upper class (crazy I know). We definitely are getting hosed in prices in Canada though

    • It was not that long ago they had the 2 can dine for $7.99. Maybe 10-12 years back.
Yeah maybe 12 years ago... I remember one night I was hungry AF and with I took 1 coupon for Two Can Dine for 7.99 (or 7.49) and 1 coupon for BOGO and I ended up with 2 soft drinks, 2 fries, 2 Big Mac and 2 McChicken for something like $12-$13 with taxes ? Now I go with the whole family (2 adults, 4 kids) and it's always between $55-$70. Every cheap items that I loved on the menu almost doubled in price since then (McDouble dress like a mac, and Jr Chicken)

Sidenote: McD's Canada always gets my orders wrong too - wtf, never had this issue in other countries.

Some of us believe "supply chain shock" is just an excuse to raise prices disproportionately. Many MPs feel the same way.

    • What y'all should really do is to aim higher and lobby your provincial government to make all processed food (including restaurants) have only 5% tax, like how it is in BC.

    • I have been frequenting BK for their $5-6 deals and combos.
Right now they have two large burgers for $5, a very good deal.

You don't need fries when you have two big burgers. And being an RFDer i buy 6 x 710mL coke for $2.49-3.00 and store them in the fridge.
I don't think that's everywhere, especially with two large burgers. They're $8 in BC.

The 6 x 710mL Coke in BC now is $3.50 (best price on sale at Shoppers) plus bottle deposit, recycling and environment fees.

    • How cheap are meals at BK/Wendys? A meal here is running $7.50+tax? Everything has seen prices rise.

I agree I am against high prices in general, but not sure how it is ONLY McDonalds doing it? From my experience, prices have risen insanely elsewhere as well.

I am still pissed though, $7.50 for a meal was normal price, it is insane to pay this much on SALE. I refuse to eat at McDonalds without the coupons and free points, before I got the app the last time I ate at McDonalds was years ago. I guess what I am saying is, I am not eating at McD's at normal prices - but my question is who is?

Elsewhere in Asia, Mcdonalds continues to be the best fast food restaurant by far.

Mcdonalds Canada somehow is able to get an endless supply of customers (Mcdonalds are always full and drive thru busy) on the worst menu in terms of selection, quality and price. Good on Mcdonalds Canada, shame on Canadians.

    • I think you also forget that $4 or less also applies to a salad instead of fries, just as long as it is $4 or less.
It's also not restricted to fast food restaurants.
I was able to buy a $4 sandwich at a grocery store (not bad either, for a grocery store sandwich) and still pay only $4.20 instead of $4.52 (that's 5% tax instead of 13%)
I've seen you and other Ontarians complain about the <$4 processed food 5% tax exemption being too low and not being adjusted to modern prices.

What y'all should really do is to aim higher and lobby your provincial government to make all processed food (including restaurants) have only 5% tax, like how it is in BC.

    • The McD coupon price hikes are getting ridiculous. It feels like every time a new one comes out, the price goes up. The 2 burger one was 8$ like 2 months ago.

Here is some context from 2021, after the supply chain shock and after COVID. How can the price go from basically 2 burgers for $5ish to $8.88 - it's not even close to the current rate of inflation - that's like a 60% jump over 2 years.

Not to mention the stupid paper bag and cup fee. What are they going to next? add a tip option at the register?
