    • Has it always been the case that food items are marked up like 25% on door dash. Went to order mcdonalds breakfast the other day and got sticker shock from the prices.
      Yep. Makes sense. Restaurant has to pay like 30% to Uber. So restaurant jacks up prices. Now it’s convenient if you have coupons/promos and gift cards. But for no discounts doesn’t make sense unless you have no car and can’t pick up food.

      1 item $13.95, no discount
      2 items $13.95 each, discount of $13.95
      3 items $13.95 each, discount of $16
      4 items $13.95 each, discount of $16

      My impression is is that it's 50% of the WHOLE cart total (for example...$13.95 x 3 and then 50% off of that which is $20.93 total). Or am I missing something?

      Also can the driver see if I put $0 tip because I want to give cash to the driver or will they just ignore my order?
      I believe all three apps show "total payout" per order delivered which includes tips. So best they can do is "guess" if you tipped or not.

      Couriers see instructions you leave them. For example, if you leave a message that says "ring the bell" and they don't do it, it's not that they don't see it, they just don't chose not to do it. But if they see anything tips related, they will follow ALL instructions.

    • I was stuck in the loop as well, but just added a payment card (only had Google Pay connected before) and it worked first try. I assume this is because Doordash wants something to charge the renewal to after the 12-month free period ends.

      So for anybody else that is stuck, try ensuring that you have an actual credit card entered into your Doordash account and not just Google or apple pay.

    • Okay well, it started to work for me after i deleted my creditcard on file and added a different one on my doordash account. Went through the redeem button on amazon and clicked the doordash redeem that it redirects to and it redeemed the pass.

      I tried earlier today on one account and it didn’t work. Gave me the loop back.

      It then activated on another account but it also charged me $9.99 along with an auto renewal of $9.99 on 8/7/2023. Weird thing is that it also said I had 12 months free. Agent refunded me the initial $9.99 and told me to cancel the subscription and relink using a DoorDash account that matches the email address in my Amazon Prime account.

      Now I need to figure out how to redeem again due to this error I had. Gotta reach out to DoorDash Support again later.
