    • Beautiful looking piece of gear. I have the cheaper aluminum "Rock" one from Costco, but tempted to get this. 10lbs though...

I have that one as well, love it, about to buy another... great for camping, and bbq at home and even the gas stove. Just cant crank the heat on it as per the manual.

    • I bought something similar The Rock griddle plate from Costco I believe was 30$ and certainly not cast iron.
So this is pretty good deal for a cast iron griddle.

    • Same price on Walmart.ca
No in-store stock though (1 unit here and there).

Wish this griddle was closer to $50.

Looks like the one in the OP has a small lip, and if you're cooking high-fat foods or burgers, the fat might seep off the edge, causing a fire hazard.
The Lodge Pro one has taller edges that might prevent the liquids from falling over the edge.

Hmm.. I didn't even need a grill like this, but this could get really handy for taco night.

    • Thanks. Bought a similar item from Princess Auto but when I used it with high heat on the BBQ to sear steaks the surface "bubbled" and had a chemical smell to it. Wasn't comfortable with putting my food on it. Hopefully this Lodge product will be higher quality and safe.

    • Good deal. I, too, was looking for the single burner version as it would be less bulky, however for the price hard to pass up this one.

    • I see most of use cases are on gas stove, so STUPID question: is there any usage for this on a gas BBQ or charcoal BBQ? Assuming the BBQ device is quite descent like Weber?

Burgers, steaks, fish, poultry, bacon & eggs, pancakes - world is your oyster my friend.

Cooking followed closely by self defense. In all seriousness I use mine a lot when camping. Bacon and eggs for breakfast and burgers are probably the things I cook most using it.

For cooking yes, absolutely. For lugging back and forth to the trailer every weekend in the summer, not so much.

    • would this be ideal if I want to kbbq on my gas stove?

I have used my griddle on the BBQ or camping fire for eggs and bacon. Works quite well.
