    • Seems like a really great deal. I just don't have a need for them, sadly.

Nest has more home automation products - Smoke Alarm, Smart Thermostat and Google Assistant with Smart Locks etc - so I would vote for Hub.

I'm getting this mostly for the google photos picture frame feature. Great for the Grandmas to see their grandkids.

I have a Lenovo Smart Display, and I'm quite happy with the photo frame feature.

Apple or Android? Ford or Chevy? Xbox or Playstation?

They are very similar products that have very similar experiences. You will find people on both sides of the fence. Do some research and try to find what works best for you.

If you are here - just buy it.
That is what true RFDers do - buy what they "WANT" 😉. There will be use for it for sure - bedside clock, photo frame, online music, youtube, kitchen tablet etc etc

      "NEED" is not important 😂

Yeah, I have 2 myself and got another one for each of the grandparents. Picture frame mode is awesome, shared my album with each display and gifted it to in-laws in Poland, now everytime me or my wife take a picture of the kids here the Google AI automatically adds the photo to the slideshow in Poland.

Can you explain how you do that? That would be an awesome idea for sharing pictures with parents and inlaws?

You have to create an album, then choose the option in the album that auto loads photos of people (works via facial recognition).

The obviously, you would have to share the album with the parents and inlaws. Then they choose that album in their own Google Home app.

    • does this stack with the $40 off $200? You could buy 2 for $160 then? :D

    • I might finally cave, I have one already in my kitchen, another would be useful in the basement (nest doorbell) so I need to decide if I want to use the third as a $100 alarm clock lol

    • Been super happy with ours - put one in the kitchen and being able to see all our different timers visually on the screen has been great. A nice time saver over having to keep asking google how much time was left on various timers when we'd have a bunch of stuff cooking at once (it got cumbersome that way). Can't say I've found much of a use for the Hub ones anywhere else in the house yet, so have stuck with the regular ones and mini ones in most other rooms. Seems to be more benefit if we had nest cameras or doorbell too.

    • Great price! If I didn't already have one, I'd definitely think about up this combo.

Did the exact same thing, gave nana and grandpa the 8" Lenovo Smart Display and we grabbed a 10" they freaking love it!

We can go out and take some photos and add to the shared library and I will get a text 30 mins later about the new photo, lol. So awesome!

Video chatting is a HUGE bonus, it's why I think these Google ones were (are) insanely over priced. $99 should be their normal price due to lack of camera for video calling, Lenovo 8" isn't worth MSRP but for $130 on sale? Heck yeah! 10" was $169.

Assuming the promotion on the website is what is being referred to, it does not apply as it is only for clothing
