    • Just bought the tcl tv from the other thread and thinking if i shd get a soundbar. People did say the $110 sound bar is not a great one but good enough but if it is worth the money over just using the tv speakers? I have always just use tv speaker before so i don’t really need the best sound.

Well basically any sound bar is going to be better than TV speakers. But if you've always just used the TV speakers and have been happy with it, then it really depends on your usage and how much you value having better sound.

I think TV speakers are usually not as good as these aftermarket ones. Bose refurb soundbar mentioned in this thread is a good deal IMO. Also, it seems that there is a 90 day return window on that as well.

I've had this sound bar for a few years, refurbished from Bose. It's good enough. Can't expect anything spectacular for this price. The remote seems... excessive for what you need. Not used it as a universal remote. I use it on my secondary tv where I have a 40' Vizio, and site fairly close to it. I don't know how well it would fill a room with sound. But as kwokinator mentioned, they're better than terrible tv speakers. Also not sure why they always have a good stock of refurbished sound bars...

    • Are Bluetooth speakers/sound bars any good for PC's? Or is there too much latency?

In general Bluetooth has high latency which is not good for gaming. Even the aptX Low Latency codec (which Bose doesn't support) still has a noticeable 40ms latency. For video its not so much of a problem because most applications will still sync the sound by taking the latency into account.

Bose has a 90 day trial period so get it from bose.ca, add in great canadkan rebates for an extra couple of percent off, and return if you see something better for boxing day or black Friday
