    • I've never had an ikea mattress. What's the consensus on these?

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality when I bought an Ikea mattress for my first time a couple of years ago.
Got the HAUGESUND med-firm mattress for my spare room, and works well whenever I need to use it. I found the firm one too FIRM since I sleep on my side (so took that back and got the med-firm one within 90 days).
As per reviews it's good for guest rooms and occasional uses........ so cannot comment on everyday use of it.
But for the price, its definitely very decent.

Trying them on the floor model could be very different from the actual experience since the floor models could be overused and softer than what it would be.
That's what happened with me when I bought the firm one...... and then had to take it back to get the med-firm instead.

    • Thanks op. Been waiting 6 months for this

I had the haugsvar but returned due to defect. They had offered 15% cash back to keep it , or they would pick up free and refund in full, minus the original shipping to store charge .

Then got the deal on amazon but mattress was also defective, and it's not nice. Amazon gave full refund and told to keep it. Still sleeping on it, but waiting for the deal from Ikea to get a good one again.

    • FWIW, those looking for a firm mattress should definitely check out the Morgedal firm series.

    • Been sleeping on mine for close to 6/7 years now. I think it was called Hansbo or something.

It's a great mattress. Definitely buy a mattress protector 🤦🏽‍♂️ only regret that I have.

Also, apparently you have to keep the original receipt for the warranty, which wouldn't really make since it's thermal paper. So take a photo too?

none of them are 12" and above thickness as my platform bed is low and dont wanted to add any more box springs. I guess they are much expensive than the Zinus 12" Hybrid ones that were around in RFD for a while.

Sorry, the amazon deal was on a bedstory mattress. It's garbage compared to the Ikea one.

    • In the market for a new mattress. I am actually surprised to see how well Ikea's mattress is received on RFD.

Was looking for a hybrid/memory foam, king, budget around 1k. Anyone know if Ikea's quality is better or what Costco offers (was looking at novaform)?

    • I just picked up a new one a few days ago - this came at a perfect time as I can go and price match the difference. Ended up with the Foldoy king size so 15% off is about $150 in savings.

    • Bought one a few years back for my daughter. No complaints. They come shrink-wrapped so it's not too difficult to transport.

    • Avoid any of the matresses that come as a rolled bundle. The mattress will be too thin for longer term use. Their higher-end stuff is fine.

    • Fyi Ikea does price adjust itself. I think 45 days is the timeline

    • As owner of two Ikea mattresses, I agree with almost all comments. Their lower end mattresses can be very comfortable, but not necessarily durable. Also note that their latex mattresses are one of the best deals for, well, latex mattresses, as these usually are prettttty expensive. And you can give them a try in store before buying (latex doesn't usually sag as much as others...)

How do you price match the difference? Don’t they just adjust the price and refund you the difference?
