      Aren't the anchor storage sets from canadiantire a better deal? They're often on sale for $9.99 (including right now), and they also sell replacement lids. And they don't have tacky graphics

      and there's many other sets which often go on sale as well
      That's the selling point for certain people. You might as well be confused as to why people don't buy cheaper merchandise without Hello Kitty printed on them because they're cheaper, or anything licensed or branded, especially IPs that appeal to many children, like this (Sanrio) IP. Pikachu/Pokemon is another example.

      There is a reason why they are selling the lids in store, it was like they designed it to break down over time.....continuous profit after you purchased the set.... 😉

    • For anyone who bought this, do not microwave with the lid (even ajar). Use paper towel or a bigger lid.

      There seems to be a design flaw in this bowl with the lid that causes it to very easily seal itself up in the microwave which can lead to the bowl exploding inside your microwave.

      I bought this set exactly one year ago, and it's still like new (maybe because I haven't used them yet) :facepalm:

      FWIW I appreciate the Sanrio character stuff.
      I did get the plain Pyrex 10 piece set for $16 at WM during BF so it's around the same price point. I do appreciate though that the lids are different colours with my set. I've seen a different HK Pyrex container set at US Sam's club that has different colour lids and design, but not in Canada for some reason.

      The Sophico silicone lids work well, but they aren't cheap.
