I recently purchased a Sealy Cocoon (firm) which costs more - I suffer from lower back pain and sciatica so wanted to get something firm, but it has been killing my back ever since. Will return that one once I receive the Casper.
Is this a firmer foam? We have the novaform(i think thats the name) from costco and we really like it but thinking of going for a king size.

Im in the same boat. Lower back pain so i purchased a novaform Serafina Pearl Firm and my upper back has been stiff when I wake up. Are you thinking a softer mattress will alleviate that while still supporting the lower back?

Yes the Cocoon is super firm. I can sleep comfortably on the floor which provides relief for my back and so figured firm was the way to go. But I'm either not heavy enough to give the proper support (66kg) or firm isn't the way for me, will see how this Casper fairs.

My upper back has been fine with a firm, sounds like you need something less firm or a topper

    • Any thoughts on firmness of this vs Endy?

We have an Endy at our cottage that is causing back pain issues for my wife. It has become progressively softer and softer over the past three years, would Casper be considered a firmer mattress? FWIW, we have a Recore mattress in our primary home that is holding up well and is much firmer than the Endy.

Firmness is a bit subjective but i would say its firm for a memory foam mattress but not very firm compared to a spring mattress? It's not overly soft and mushy where you sink in... hope that helps lol.

Overall i'm happy with it and this $200 discount is a bonus.

I don't know about the Endy but the Casper is more on the firm side for sure. Even with the foam topper they used to provide for free.

But my back hasn't hurt since I got the Casper probably 6 or so years ago now.

I had this exact dilemma... from my research its closest to the original with a little extra padding. I went into the casper store and they were offended that I was purchasing from costco lol. They also pointed me to the original mattress saying its most similar to that but with "older technology".

Common sense would tell you it's the element. Costco isn't going to sell this at 50% off, since the original straight from Casper is $1186 for a queen.

    • Well Im going to have to break out the old Enigma machine again to try and decipher which mattress to buy. Buying a mattress nowadays might be one of the most confusing and stressful purchases out there.

Went to a Casper store once. Their sales tactics are laughable. They make you feel like a poor person for even considering a $2000 model that isn't the $4000 wave form hybrid. Like they are in disbelief that after they have explained the very scientific benefits that you'd ever consider their pathetic original. They even had the original mattresses room in the back of the store under worse lights (Vancouver kitsilano location).

Went with Endy for like $900 (King) and I would say it's hard to distinguish from the Casper original, granted I only laid on the Casper for a few minutes.
