    • I'm in Alberta so after doing the math

      399.99x0.8= ~$320
      Redeem $170 worth of points (320-170)=~150
      150x1.05= $157.50

      Would it actually be this price for a switch?

      It's from their mobile promo department. That's the only way to hear about these sales, as far as I know. They're not usually advertised anywhere else.

      I believe they take the $170 redemption discount off after tax, so your total will be higher.

      So then ~$320x1.05=~335
      335-170= ~165?

    • How are these coupons used, i.e. is this supposed to be on a phone when you bring it in, do they have them in a stack at checkout, are you supposed to print it off, etc.

      Looks right to me. I got mine in Ontario for about 190

      Hit the link on your phone. The coupon is designed for mobile devices. I had no problem getting a cashier to apply the coupon off my phone during the last F&F sale. There were no printed coupons in stores, and the last sale was advertised only through text messages.

      Last time I handed the cashier the phone, instructions are there on the coupon to tell them how to enter it.

    • If anybody is near Oakville, I saw 2 PS4 Pro's (Bundles I think, but I don't remember which bundles) at the Speers Rd. and Kerr St. location

      Your assumption needs to include actually finding a Switch in-stock @ SDM.. good luck w/that!

      That's true. If I were to find one in stock today could I buy it then return it tomorrow and repurchase it with the discount?

      Just ask them to put it on hold for you until tomorrow. I had no issues at my local SDM.

    • Im still undecided on the nintendo switch but this his tempting.

    • Was wondering what is the optimal way to proceed: I want to purchase the Switch, pro, controller and a few games
      I have 95k points

      Should i use the $170 towards games/controller or towards the switch given that if i purchase the switch here, i miss out on ~46 000 points I would earn by purchasing it during a 20x points day. I know that there is typically a super redemption event on black Friday weekend so should I wait for that?

    • I tried getting a local SDM to put a switch on hold until the next day and they refused. YMMV

      Lets say that with the future PC/Optimum points merge I value shoppers optimum points just as plain money. Don't need to redeem on electronics. I shop at PC grocery stores all the time and can redeem for groceries after February when the points merge. points = money = cash = no difference.

      Is it not technically more profitable to buy electronics on a 20x points day instead of using a 20% off day? Or am i forgetting something?
      Switch & game = 399 + 79 = $478. Receive 478 * 10 * 20 = 95600 points which is worth $170 to redeem later on groceries. Total long term cost is ($478 * 1.13 tax) - $170 = $370
      Switch & game = 399 + 79 = $478. $478 x 0.8 = $382. Receive 3820 points worth $5. Total long term cost is ($382 * 1.13 tax) - $5 = $426

    • What's better... waiting for bonus redemption day (likely Black Friday weekend) or this 20% off event?

      It really depends what you're buying. Bonus redemption can be used on sale items, for instance, whereas the 20% off applies only to regular priced merchandise. And for higher priced purchases, the 20% off will almost certainly outweigh the ~$20 extra value on bonus redemption days.

    • Just got the text, you probably won't find a better deal on a Switch this holiday season. Works on all video game merchandise.

    • This promo coupon WILL stack with the Optimum coupons.

      Last time, I got a PS4 pro for $400+hst=$452, stacked with a 15x exclusive week offer.
      I was hoping for a better coupon this week, but I only have the 10K bonus coupon.

      This Saturday the PS4 pro is full price ($500+hst) but you get a $100 SDM GC, effective $465 for Ontario.
      The HUGE gamble is hoping next week's personal coupon is a multiplier coupon, and not a 3K or 6K bonus.
