    • Your friend sounds like he knows how to keep customers happy. Where are his stores located and do they sell cosmetics? 😃

    • an old friend owns 2 SDM here. He didn't tell me the cost but he doesn't mind using the 20% off on Thursday or 20x points on electronic products.

The only thing he hates is high-value returns. AKA switch or airpods or Dyson.
They need to do the paperwork and send it back to SDM HO. Lots of paper work and may not get the refunds within 6 months. And they have to keep following up via email because SDM HO sometimes forgets to give them a refund.

I think u just got an unhappy/jealous worker.

    • Oh wow then I think it would depend on your luck with the employee. Cuz I think the COST of the PS5 that shoppers pays sony is like $700 so they are taking a loss I think. Cuz employee discount wont result in 30% off just $13 off

    • oh, that may explain what happened to me. I was buying a ps5 earlier, employee was not sure it would work on it so she scanned it in and worked. Right before I was about to pay with my card, she quickly stopped it, started chatting with her co-worker then came back saying ps5 is not eligible.

    • Basically overinflated product to become regular price sale. Knowing shoppers inflating their prices by at least 20%.
Not really, depending what are you buying actually
For example, you get the same price like Nintendo games and Apple products
Also they have great deals on eggs and soft drinks from time to time

      Wait is it on clearance?

    • Yes, how very criminal of them to make you scan one code which is basically your membership card and another code to apply a discount. Lock them up.
Might miss a deal. Unless you are hardcore RFD! 😝

    • Need to scan offer AND you optimum card.
Or you won't get 20% off.

      Very nefarious this company!!!!

    • "20% off Regular Price"

Can someone confirm what this means please?

Does it mean 20% off only non sale items or does it mean 20% posted shelf price including the already discounted items on sale?

      Thks
Only items that are not on sale qualify for the 20% off.

    • Honestly your best bet with this is to just buy your controllers from GameStop and pay the $10 (or whatever it is now) for the one-year product replacement, and just "warranty" your controller every year and pay the new $10 (or whatever) fee on the new controller as well. Then just repeat it in another year.
I would normally agree with what you said. but its a bit of a risk now - Gamestop is running on fumes now (i.e. I think they'll shut down this year, of course I might be wrong, I though they'd shut down last year too)

      Thats true.

I always looked @ Shoppers Drug Mart as a big shiny convenience store. They’re conveniently located. Most open until midnight and they even have 24hr locations. Convenience stores always a rip. But “convenient”.

If its after 9pm and for some reason I really need bacon, eggs, toilet paper and bandaids… i can get that easily.
Otherwise i plan ahead and get them @ regular grocery stores much cheaper.

    • Is this better than 20x points, assuming you use the points only on bonus redemption days? I have a 20x points offer tomorrow
20 X the points = 30% plus you get a minimum 30% bonus on your points when you redeem them.

Unfortunately there's no time machine, but PS5 controllers were $65 around Black Friday. Nothing that cheap since then so 20% off might be your best bet, but just FYI that sales are possible!

    • I wonder if they have some sort of agreement with the brands that they can’t do % off discounts?
Used to work in the industry. High discounts impact the perception of the brand, and excess stock is typically returned back to the supplier instead of being sold at a discount. Even at 20% off, SDM would still be making a very healthy profit

Best place to get discounted fragrances is from the brand's warehouse sale, if they have it
