PCPlus.ca PC Plus Bonus Offer: Get 20,000 Points for Every $80 You Spend Through August 1 (Loblaws/Ontario Only) Get 20,000 Points for Every $80 You Spend
get this dealLoblaws rolled out a new rewards program called PC Plus back in May and right now they've got a pretty great bonus offer! For every $80 you spend in a single transaction through August 1, 2013 you'll get a bonus 20,000 points. The redemption value of 20,000 points is $20!
To take part in this offer, you'll have to be a PC Plus member, obviously (sign up for free here) and then manually load the offer onto your card. This offer is valid in Ontario Loblaws locations only and PC Points cannot be earned on tobacco, alcohol, prescriptions, gift cards, phone cards, lottery tickets or third-party operations (like gas bars or dry cleaners). You'll get 20,000 points per $80 spent in a single transaction, meaning that two $40 transactions will not count, but a single $160 transaction will garner 40,000 points.
All points will be credited to your account by August 9.

View allFor example, I spent over $80 (but less than $160) and just over $50 of that was in health & beauty items. Therefore, I got 20K for the $80, 2 x 5K for the $25 in health & beauty items. I also received points for several items with their own associated offers. Thus I came away with a little over 30K points on that purchase.
I bought $87 worth of diapers (on sale), redeemed $80 worth of points and got the 20K bonus.
I confirmed with the cashier.
there were also signs posted at the cash for the bonus offer.
After making a $110 some odd purchase, the 20K offer was indicated as having been used. I forgot the exact term on the icon. The icon also became shaded differently. My purchase didn't include any of the other offers from last week so their icon appearance on the webpage didn't change.
This morning, offers from the previous week have been replaced for the most part. The avocados are present this week again with certainty. There may be 1 or 2 other repeats, I don't recall, but the majority are definitely new items. The 20K points one was not present as mentioned.
This week's offers that were available before 'load all offers' button was pressed were the following 9, arranged in 3 rows of icons.
PC dip, PC free run eggs, PC or BM frozen fish
PC organic beverages, Cashmere toilet paper, Cheerios
pototoes, avocados, bananas
Yes, I did click the 'load all offers' button this morning. The ones listed above were the only ones that were indicated as having been loaded - no additional ones appeared.
I say this because I loaded the 20k offer last week and just today loaded my new weekly offers and the 20k offer remains in my "loaded offers" to use until aug 1. It seems clear that we will only be able to use this in our first transaction above $80 (but get multiples of 20k pts for each $80 we spend in the same transaction.
On the app it says aug 1st for me. Perhaps the 'in store' version (that you may not have to load on the card?) is done sooner. Some of the offers for everyone (advertised in store) you don't need to load.
Edit:
The pcplus website also says aug 1.
The offer is good until Aug 1.
Spend $80 before applicable taxes and after all other coupons or discounts are deducted, in a single transaction at any participating store location (excludes purchase of tobacco, alchohol products, prescriptions, GIFT CARDS, phone cards, lottery tickets, all third party operations (post office, gas bars, dry cleaners, etc.) and any other products which are provincially regulated) to earn the points indicated.
20,000 PC points = $20 in free rewards
It may be a good opportunity to compare products with other stores I frequent during the week (eg. Metro, Big Carrot) especially providing incentive to try out my choices of the black label PC products. Most have been good and though expensive, this would allow less restrained exploration. Besides, one would need to go above the threshold of $80 increments while my smaller, more frequent purchases usually don't. I'm sure that won't be as hard particularly with the gourmet and exotic items.
Loblaw launches smart-phone based loyalty program
"The Loblaws loyalty program will be rolled out across Loblaw Cos. banners this year, including Joe Fresh but not No Frills or Maxi"
My $86 purchase on Friday did not register though so working with them on that now, keep your receipts just in case!

I was able to sign up though?
This is the best offer to date. Although, it hasn't been out long. I also have a coinciding offer of 5000 pts with $100 purchase.
The small print suggests that if your bill was $160 you would get 40000 pts. It also suggests that the offer is redeemed once you've made one qualifying purchase. Can't speak from direct experience though.
How often does an offer of this caliber occur, eg. 10K's of points or ~25% of receipt value? Or is this the best seen of its kind so far - I'm wondering if if PC Plus points are usually tied to some particular product one may not be interested in rather than general purchases, which would be best, like this promotion.
Can someone else confirm what happens if you buy $160 worth? I think one poster said he got 40K points. Is that confirmed by anyone else?
On a related note, what happens if you buy $80-159.99 on one occasion, and $80-159.99 on a second occasion? Will you get 20K on both or just the first time? One poster speculated that the offer is redeemed after the first time. But, unless I missed something, no one has confirmed whether a second round will get the same reward. My usual habit is to grocery shop 2 or 3 times a week rather than make 1 large purchase. Anyone else with similar habits already tried? Or do we just hold our breaths until August 9?
The only detail about the offer at the website is "for every $80 purchase". That suggests both $160 and 2x$80 purchases will confer 40K points.
