    • Has anyone used the Lasko tower heater or the dish heater fan? Any good? Read a review that the plug melted (fire hazard) from the Lasko. Wondering if that was from prolonged use.

I happened to have both. I used the Lasko tower heater in the basement TV area and the dish heater fan in my work office. Lasko, at first, it looks quite good (my first purchase) with spin-able, remote control, sleek-looking, etc. However, I found it doesn't produce enough heat and quite noisy (from the fan). It is very flimsy because the base is too small for the weight/height of the tower. The dish heater, I like it a lot. It produces more heat and no noise at all (without a fan). I place it 6' behind me but i can feel the heat evenly. It has feature like auto off so I don't worry about turn it off when I leave work. It is, otoh, a bit big, chunky, hard to put anywhere and ugly as it stands out in my office like a little sun shining from the corner. Saying that, If it's around $50-$60, I'd get another one for my basement and replacing the Lasko.

I hope that helps and sorry for the long story.

I have been using the Lasko tower heater for about a month now (thanks TDG) so far there's no problems but I will have to look at it more careful now after reading you post.
