    • Do you get some sort of warning if you are not 1 of the first 1000s to register for an offer? I signed up real late for the dollarama offer and it still let me register so just wondering.
The offer disappears from the registration page if you aren't one of the first to sign up within the limit
If you were able to register, you are good to go

    • Not really an offer, but did anyone else get a "hoomband wireless" shipped to them from Amex?
      https://www.amazon.ca/HoomBand-Wireless ... B08HDJR1KV

It came with a note to "consider upgrading from business gold to platinum".
Yes I was so surprised to see it at my doorstep. It might be lying there for a couple of days as we usually left from the garage

    • Anybody get $10 back with the SkipTheDishes offer? I made 1 order, exactly $25, was supposed to get $5 back and they gave me $10 lol.
Since it's a cumulative purchase offer, you would get $10 and next time, u spend $5 more in STD, you would get the remaining $5 back from the offer

Not an Amex customer at the moment. I was one back in 2013-2015, but that's eons ago. haha

    • Yes totally. But be aware of the MSR on both cards and make sure you can spend that much.
Cobalt is $750 and Gold is $1000. Won't be too bad to hit it. I originally wanted to get the business gold but I don't see my self using the card other than hitting the SUB since the MSR is alot lower for the business gold. Prefer to have cards that I can use throughout the year. I know the SUBs aren't great at the moment,
I have them both. Yes Cobalt provides 5X, but I personally experienced one restaurant dropping amex acceptance (hopefully not a trend) and most recently not getting 3X on Paramount annual streaming (which is partially my fault assuming major streaming service like Paramount would be included in 3X). Gold card is a higher tier card and it's annual fee is close to $0 if you consider 4 annual lounge passes (I did use all 4) and annual $100 travel credit. I am on the edge of closing Cobalt and only leaving personal Gold. It's personal choice.
Interesting, I thought It wasn't common for people to do both since it's sort of redundant other than the lounges and travel perks. I agree with the 4 lounge passes equates to the annual free including the travel credit, that's why I just wanted to gauge if It was a good idea or not.

    • Is it a bad idea to get both the cobalt and personal gold? I like the multipliers for the cobalt but I like the perks that the personal gold offers. The 4 Canadian lounge passes, better travel insurance and the $100 credit. I understand a lot of people get the cobalt and the business gold but other than the SUB the card is pretty much not great. I'd get dinged on my credit score if I close it after the year.

    • If you want to have lounge passes & better travel insurance, there are better cards, such as Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite. The Gold card is good if you can get the full welcome bonus, and spend a lot on drug stores. Personally I will not renew the Gold card after 1st year.

For the Business Gold, it’s targeting people who spend $20K a quarter, which makes you eligible for the 10K bonus MR. Also the $100 per year Dell credit could be handy for some people. It depends on your usage.

Amex Cobalt is great for its 5X categories. However, the welcome bonus is very bad.

    • Got both dollarama offers ($5 off $30, $20 off $200) on 2 of my Amex cards. It seems to be the best offer in 2024 so far...
The Harry Rosen offer is extremely good when you can stack with their 20% off site-wide offer, which last happened just before Black Friday in 2023.

    • Strange that some are receiving $5 off $35 and others $5 off $30.

Care to share which Amex received this offer?

Our Amex Offers have moved from our Cobalt/Bonvoy to Plat and wish we could have the offers revert back to the card used most often.

We both received the $5 off $30 offer and one of us received the $200 Dollarama online offer and the other didn't.

Best current offer on Plat other than $200 Dining Credit is $10 Instacart monthly credits! Lol
