    • Last time I looked there was five in GVA (Vancouver). Although some stores have since closed, new ones have sprung up and the store finder on their web site isn't inclusive.. so not sure how many locations they have in the west.

Pizza Pizza opens fourth British Columbia location in New Westminster (news release)

    • How about a pair of Motorola DynaTac 8000's? They ought to be worth a full pizza, if only by weight.

Yes sir, since your phones weigh 11 lbs they will make excellent door stops. Full pizza for you if you weren't in B.C.

    • I'd rather give any of my 'end of life' devices to someone who would have a use for it instead of tossing it in a big 'recycling' facility. Not sure how much of it does but I was watching a documentary on scammers in Nigeria and it showed them bringing in tons of old (very old) electronics and they were just throwing everything into piles and setting them on fire.

There's tons of people who could use a really old phone/laptop/computer.

No idea. As I posted, some of those locations have gone out of business. But they've also opened new ones.
Tried searching on their webpage but their store finder misses a lot of locations so it's a guessing game with them.
Yeah.. we're gonna need you to go to a BC pizza pizza and take a selfie with todays newspaper.

Otherwise, they're all closed and the offer is correct.

I've always found those drop boxes for old tech a bit of a shame if the devices are just being recycled for components (ie: when they don't take the cables for it). I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who can't afford the latest and greatest tech who would really enjoy using a still perfectly functional but dated piece of tech even if it is a little slower in comparison to a brand new one.

    • Re: old devices - I really hope people aren't dropping off good/decent android phones for a slice of pizza. I think most RFDers and others are bringing in physically damaged phones or really old devices. If people have old android phones they can turn them in security cameras and a lot of other things.

I think this is a great initiative by Pizza Pizza. Some people may just throw out those phones in the garbage so much better that they are recycled (i.e. value metals removed from them).

I doubt people are throwing them in the garbage.

I’d like to see where pizza pizza ends up taking all this old tech to if people even do this. They shouldn’t be excluding certain thugs though, kind of says f—- recycling at the same time.

    • This is like slices for our self dignity. Can we be that desperate? :(

The only thing I can think of that would salvage our dignity is a broken cheapo mp3 player for a slice

      Mobile and smart phones
      Digital cameras
      iPods and MP3 players
Handheld gaming consoles (ie. Nintendo 2DS/ 3DS, Sony PlayStation Vita)

There is some YMMV as to which devices they'll accept, depending on the location and the staff.
In addition to items on the officially accepted devices list, I've previously been able to trade in:
      -cordless home phone handset
      -Wii remote game controller
-power adapters (used to be on the official list)
      -PDA device
      -electric shaver
      -walkie talkie
      -PC fax/modem card
      -PC sound card
      -netbook
      -router
      -internal PC floppy disk drive
      -internal PC hard drive
-printer cartridges (used to be on the official list)

However, most of these I did in prior years, when the official list was not as restrictive. The first three items I was able to exchange this year. Again, YMMV.
