I did and I had issues with diarrhea from every single one.

    • Does this work with fries/sticks?
I’m gonna say yes to both, but when I say sticks I’m referring the incredibly dry and hard texture of the “chicken” they served me the one time I had the misfortune of ordering from them.

    • Last time I went to an Osmows was they had their Shawarma promo for $5 (last 2 years ago). Man the shawarma was rolled like 3 times to make it look like it's full but had like 50% filling of a regular shawarma. Some deal, never went back.

      No only rocks/rice...

I tried combining this with upsize but this only applies to regular size.

also, I tried different places and one restaurant gave me diarrhea yesterday....

All in all, I prefer lazeez anyday...only if their chicken didn't chew like canned tuna....****....

    • The Osmows party platters made fresh to order are far better than what you get in store. Great for parties. In store you have to be a fan of the sauces as the rice tends to be hard and chicken is dry.
How is a party platter made differently than the individual/regular menu plates? Wouldn't a chicken shawarma platter still use the meat from the same spit?

    • Whoa, significant protein for under $10!!!
Their food is pretty good, had an entire party meal with a few buddies last year.

    • Its not illegal, and a lot of these type of restaurants do it. The store does not have to pay out the tips to its employees as long as they're earning minimum wage.
Name these restaurants so they can be reported for tip theft

Or explain how it isn't tip theft (assuming you are referring to Ontario and not another province)

    • He's probably only had shawarma from Toronto, so he thinks it's good.

Note: Not bashing Toronto as a whole. It's a great city for many things. Shawarma just isn't one of them, that's all.
That guys post had literally nothing to do with Toronto. Feeling the need to say Toronto doesn't have good shawarma despite the fact there are literally thousands of restaurants across the city that serve shawarma is insane. Small man syndrome.

    • This thread has been a great value -- as I'll save on wasting time trying out Osmow's now haha. Shawarma places that I like never have deals but I guess they don't have to. I easily get two meals out of a $16 plate order and it's great quality off the spit every time

Ottawa has great Shawarma. I used to like the place on Rideau past the mall. Castle Shawarma it was called but they're not around any more. Many other good spots.
Shawarma Palace on Bank/Huntclub was another spot I liked since they gave huge portions. You could eat for 2 days off one plate for under 15 dollars.

    • I’ve never gone to this place, but sheesh, whatever method/food I’m hearing about in this thread is certainly not shawarma. The meat is to be sliced right off the spit and into the pita, and should be ridiculously tasty and moist, and certainly no cartilage. If you’re in Van, hit up Al Basha.
It's pretty bad. The bland chicken and rice is just a vehicle for the sauce.

Kids, teens, and maybe some adults with unmature tastebuds will like it though, the same way they love AYCE sushi places.

    • You don't get die-eh-reea from spices. You get it from unhygienic practices. They have the worst tasting shawarma. Their meat is bland and spicy at the same time which take a special kind of talent to do that. I'd rather pay $15 for a proper shawarma plate.

    • This thread is soon gonna be all the softies complaining about diarrhea cause they can't handle the spice. As for me, I like their chicken on the rocks (always extra hot). I been slowly cutting down cause I'm trying to cut out rice, but I get the random cravings. Thanks OP!

    • Once they messed up my Uber eats order and put NO SAUCE at all and the chicken actually tasted disgusting....like it had no seasoning at all.
this! the last few years that i tried their food, it has pretty much gone downhill. their chicken tastes like paper. no flavour nor seasoning at all. saving grace is the white sauce but then for each extra tablespoon of whitesauce for flavour means 1 meal i have to skip in order to balance out the amount of fat and salt content in it.

there's better shawarma places out there with better tasting food.

    • The one by my house uses 2 draywall putty scrappers to chop the chicken on the flat top until it's nothing. than it sits in the warmer drying out turning into saw dust and literally taste like sand.

They'll use ice cream scoopers and give 2 tiny scoops for a large rocks and thinly spread it out over the rice and hide it in half a bottle of that white sauce.

I went once and haven't been back in 5 years. You can't pay me to eat that garbage.

    • People stopped going because their chicken is barely chicken.

Any half decent place gets the chicken crispy, but still moist. Osmows gives you absolute garbage pieces of meat that are slimy and chewy. They used to be alright but there's no quality anymore.
