    • This is just a guess, but once this whole Chicken Big Mac thing goes dead they'll probably introduce a spicy version to scream out to you that there's a new reason to try it.
I don't doubt that they'll try to sell people a Grilled chicken version also.
Or maybe a whole convoluted ad campaign about whether or not a Chicken Big Mac with Bacon can still be considered a Chicken Big Mac.

    • Not sure what I was expecting, but this is probably one of the most disappointing fast food releases I’ve tried. I really didn’t enjoy this burger at all. Prefer the Spicy McCrispy over this any day.

    • What I would love is if McDonalds brought the Big Xtra. It had some special seasoning on it (anyone know what it was)?
Not sure how accurate but I heard it is:

      3 tbsp seasoned salt
      3 tsp butter seasoning
      1 beef bullion cube
      1/4 tsp black pepper

    • And this is why they’re laughing all the way to the bank for this mostly poorly rated “special” item.
I let other people try it and the reviews were unshockingly that it wasn't great. Typical McDonalds, underwhelming and overpriced.

    • I mean, you should go for it just to say you tried it. But I wouldn't get it again.

    • It was quite disappointing, maybe the worst sandwich I've ever had from McDonald's. I wish I hadn't tried it lol
Their McCrispy sandwich was also a disappointment....at least for me anyway. I am afraid to try the chicken big mac based on all the negative things I am reading about it.

    • It will be interesting to check this out! A pic on the previous page shows one hand holding the burger. I might stick with two hands for extra support...maybe?

    • if you are going to eat it, once you pick it up, you cannot put it down. i don't mean because it's tasty - but quite literally - don't put it down or out of your hands because it will end up sliding and falling all over the place and becomes both very unappealing and IMO messy to eat

    • Agreed it does seem to lack the structural integrity of the regular Big Mac.

    • Here's an interview with Jeff Anderson, senior manager of culinary innovation at McDonald's Canada, where he talks a little bit more about his day-to-day. He's the man featured in the CTV video which led previous posters to suggest/joke he's been doing nothing but working on this for the last two years.

Sounds like he runs the test kitchen which would've been involved in the launch of any new/special menu item in the last two years. This would've been one of many projects they would've been working on during the last two years.
Yes, that's the best way to put it. Not literally the only thing, but what is meant, is that it really did take two years of taste tests and whatever else to get it right...along with whatever else he was working on, but it was not done same day or overnight.

    • No idea? How does it work? Do tell!! I know how marketing works, and even I think it took two years to fiddle and get the recipe right.

    • Never said it was. But people whining about oh they spent two years on this like it was the only thing they did have no clue how product development works.

    • Not sure why people were expecting this to cost less than a Big Mac instead of the opposite. Look at the way McDonald's prices the Jr Mcchicken vs the McDouble. 1 small jr chicken patty priced the same as 2 small beef patties. Heck, the reg McChicken costs almost the same as 1/4 Pounder but the reg McChicken patty has much less protein than a regular 1/4 pound beef patty.

    • I think I'm a fast food philistine 'cause me wonderin' why the chicken has to be breaded - the beef patties aren't breaded!
Grilled chicken big mac? Hey? Not a bad idea for when this novelty dies off... watch it be the next big thing for them!

I finally got to try one the other day and can safely say I won’t buy it again. There was nothing wrong with the individual ingredients, but when they were combined in a single sandwich it just didn’t work.

Apples and oranges. This is not them bringing back the McRib or Pizza.

This is a brand new product, available for a limited time only. There will never be a discount on something like this ever, anywhere for anything, in any type of business, not when it is a brand new and limited.

    • There will always be a premium for something like this no matter what it is or what company offers it when It's a new limited time menu item.

I've done it. It's disgusting. The quarter pounder meat just doesn't taste right when used in a big mac...higher price and all.
You're much better off to stick with a double big mac for better taste.

    • They can park a truck outside McDonald's all they want, but without advertising the address of the nearest KFC, it's kinda pointless...especially if it's "far".
(although one could order through skip, uber or DD, if the intent is to dine in, you get my point...)

What's the purpose of advertisements? Not just to increase sales. Now the KFC ad became a topic online so they did a great job.

    • What are you smoking? A guy literally spent 2 years perfecting this recipe. Let that sink in. 2 years of countless trials to find the best ratio of breading to meat to sauce to lettuce to bun.

      2 years...

Could be 50 years, that was garbage.

    • Yep, I would even put the Big Mac without meat over whatever the hell this was...

MASSIVELY underwhelming. The smell emanating from the packaging was akin to cheap cologne...

The chickens inside were sad looking. I honestly thought they weren't cooked at first. Dry, damn-near discolored... and yes, smaller than the McChicken one, for sure.

Probably the biggest disappointment for a promotional offer in recent memory. Crazy overpriced, too.

Thank god I also bought a "Black Creek" chicken burger from a restaurant called "6ixside Burger", in Pickering. The difference between these two chicken sandwiches were night and day. I'd highly recommend that place, btw.

Anyways, first - and last - I'll be having that.

Attached pictures below. 3 of the non-chicken Chicken Big Mac, and 1 of the delicious Black Creek burger.

    • Everything will be night and day when comparing a chicken burger from any fast food place vs a place that specializes in burgers. Not sure why anyone is expecting anything different than what they are getting from a "Big Mac Chicken burger.
Yeah, we don't share the same opinion. Don't mind Burger King, McDonald's, etc burgers at all (aside from this, of course.) and can generally eat them with the same satisfaction of the more specialized burgers, can't at all say the same, though, for this monstrosity.
