The Toronto Raptors are back, which means Beyond the Arch is back at McDonald's and you'll get free fries if the Raps hit 12 three-pointers in a game!

This popular deal is available across Canada (excluding Quebec) and you'll need the McDonald's Canada app (Android, iOS) to redeem the offer -- whenever the Raptors score 12 or more threes in a game, you'll see an in-app offer for free medium fries the next day! For reference, the Raptors accomplished the feat 48 times in 64 games before the 2019-20 season was paused.

The in-app offer is redeemable the day after the game from 11:00 AM to 4:00 AM (local time) with a minimum order of $1.00 -- simply tap the in-app offer and apply it to a Mobile Order to get your free fries!

This offer is available during the 2019-20 NBA season restart and playoffs at participating restaurants in Canada, excluding Quebec. There's a limit of one free fries per customer and the offer cannot be used with meals, pairings or other offers -- click here to find the McDonald's restaurant nearest you.

Game is tomorrow so fries would be Wednesday. I don't know about their team this year. No Kawhi, No fries?

    • I wouldn't call it lost. Advertisement cost and many times people would buy something else with it.

      Apple pie is $1.19.

But I would pair it with a McDouble to make it more of a meal.

How the Raptors' historic run left McDonald's on the hook for millions in free french fries
That’s half the story. They lost $5.8M in revenue. It did not cost McD $5.8M—HUGE difference. I assume their cost for each order of fries is no where close to $2.89. Also, they did not mention the increased in sales associated with the promo.

$5.8 million is based on the menu price... actual cost to them is probably less than $500,000 (25 cents each). McDonalds spent $70 million in advertising in 2017, so the $500,000 is nothing. Also, as @TheCheapCDN mentioned, many people will buy additional items on their visit so it's likely that McDonalds turned a profit on the promotion.

Some of the promos require using the app to purchase, the OP wasn't clear.
